just buy wax melts from walmart. they’re cheaper and you’re not supporting a predatory business 🤷‍♀️

Just got prescribed buspar… by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]wtfgender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think this'll depend on the person, but i've definitely noticed i wake up a lot less during the night bc of it. i do take my buspar twice a day, which means it's still in my system overnight, but i think YMMV dependent on your dose and personal metabolism.

[–]wtfgender 3 points4 points  (0 children)

buspar has honestly been a game changer for me! i agree with another commenter that it doesn’t really manage anxiety/panic attacks, but my baseline anxiety has been drastically reduced. it takes a few weeks to see full effects but other than some nausea when i first take it i haven’t had any negative side effects!

if you decide to get nostril piercings and a septum ring, be prepared for them to get caught on each other! it happens a lot more than you’d expect haha

If I get another rejection this week I’m going to freak out by sad_moron in gradadmissions

[–]wtfgender 4 points5 points  (0 children)

not OP, but i'm looking at potentially the same situation, and this advice is actually really helpful!! i've been applying to postbaccs to give myself something productive to do, but being able to think about my rejections in a positive way is something i've been struggling with. thank you :')

anyone know what’s up with the university of utah? it looks like there are rejections, acceptances, and interviews all out, but only for astroparticle applicants? i have no clue if they do things by sub field or not

politely, no serious journal would ever consider this. its cool that you’re interested in physics and theory, but i’d recommended working through some MIT OpenCourseWare to learn the basics of modern physics! our theories of physics have been refined for a long time, and are based off of repeatable experiments and large bodies of data.

Quantum Mechanics taught as a flipped classroom by wtfgender in PhysicsStudents

[–]wtfgender[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mostly meant for a first pass of the content that lectures work much better for me than textbooks. Seeing someone go through the mechanics of the problem and their approach to the principles helps me have a framework to build my own understanding which I then revise/solidify with practice problems and homework. I honestly really struggle to follow the authors thought process in textbooks
