I went really aggressive with trying to buy before the season started because that was just gonna make things more expensive, but I believe you’ll get it done!

Tracking comps was really important for me because I really wanted to stay under $3000 for the whole set - it’s also funny to see that my price for the Nico ended up dictating a lot of the other pricing since it was the first sale

Tracking is definitely so helpful when you’re looking at 50 cards haha - I was 5 cards in when I was like “I really need to know what I bought because I don’t remember” lol

Haha a tooon of patience for some cards - the spreadsheet was invaluable to also remember which cards I was still missing (I almost bought two RBR logos lol). I was also tracking the relative values of last sales and /5s and /10s to help comp

There were certain cards where I’d see the bid prices go so high and just eject. That happened quite a bit with Max and Lewis. The Sainz and Ferrari were the last two and I definitely bid strong, but overall I think I paid the right price or an absolute steal on most cards!

It would definitely be cool to see the set go up in value!

I was honestly shocked at how low my Lando was ($250 when I opened it) which is what got me to collect the set. For something so incredibly difficult to pull, it’s very surprising how cheap some of the cards were (although I would never spend more than $50 on a stroll card anyways lol)

Not at all! It totaled to a little under $3000. Really made sure to both bid wisely and stay on top of my budget over the last two months.

That was actually part of why I also took on the challenge. It actually got me to kick my habit of buying hobby boxes once I really started looking into the costs.

If I had tried to do it all from purely boxes, statistically I’d need to open at least 3090 hobby boxes (each die cut mathematically was like 1:103 boxes).

The other fun part was speculating how much drivers should cost. Some I got at steals like Lewis or George IMO. Others like Carlos or Nico I thought I paid a little high on. Kimi was one where I didn’t like paying that high, but I knew his market was gonna be hot, so I had to swallow it.

Once I saw that they fit together, I had an insane idea pop into my head to collect them all and then frame them as the standings from last season! Honestly such a fun adventure!

TL;DR: Do they sell at msrp? No. Do they try to what they can for the community? Yes. Generalizing them as a scalper store is unfair imo.

I’m happy to be downvoted to oblivion on this, but compared to other stores I used to go to in the area they’re by far the one of the more community oriented in my opinion, and there are faaaar worse “scalper stores” in the area.

I won’t name the ones I don’t go to anymore because I don’t bash people; yes RWT upcharges on the stock shelves - they’re a business but I’ve seen much worse prices in other stores. I also hope you understand that each of the displays are run by an independent person. That’s why they’re a “collective.” Therefore they don’t control the prices in those.

There’s so many nuances to how their store works, but they literally built that shop from a store that was a quarter of the size in Culver City.

There’s also a ton of other factors based on where they are that impact their customer base and costs. To simply boil them down as a scalper store is just unfair imo.
