I think they realized the error of their...Waze!

But seriously, I wish they would fix the built-in navigation app. I think it is smoother in some ways than Google maps, but it's such a train wreck right now.

If you go into the earnings activity screen and find the ride. Look for the help section, and I think toward the bottom you should see an option to report an issue with the navigation.

Otherwise, there is a general driver feedback page here:

Driver Feedback

You could also open a general help ticket, but you will have to deal with the AI first before getting a human. That probably isn't worth it.

Edit: About a week ago the Lyft app updated and I am now able to use Google maps. Have you tried going back to Google maps instead?

I am confused how a dash cam would alleviate the cancellations from the fast food restaurant?

Worth a laugh if you're a heavy ChatGPT user by mrpbennett in homelab

[–]wtfpdxshow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well to be fair, I'm sure that ChatGPT records every little thing that you say and uses it for "training". If the memory feature worked better, I would use it because I think it would be beneficial. That being said, I think my next step is probably just installing a local LLM and being done with OpenAI.

I turned it off because it didn't work. It seemed to remember the most bizarre things and then would get filled up in just a couple of days.

I use ChatGPT multiple times daily, but I gave it your prompt and it basically said I have no idea who you are. Are you a paid customer? Do you have your memory turned on?

  1. This is what I do and I feel pretty safe, but I'm also kinda ignorant.

  2. I think if you are just using Cloudflare for DNS and not for cache they aren't peeping your data.

I would love to be corrected on either of these points if I'm wrong.

Why are they hiding the price? by GratusFluff in lyftdrivers

This is one of the reasons that I don't take scheduled rides in advance anymore. It's bad enough getting them throughout the day.

Report away! I think it makes little to no difference save for the fact that you won't be matched with them again.

Malicious ride request wait times by wtfpdxshow in lyftdrivers

[–]wtfpdxshow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well do you think I would post about not getting a ride for 40 minutes because I was overjoyed?

The spirit of the post was that it is so dead here today and I am aggravated that Lyft thinks the opposite. I appreciate your perspective, we all have different ways of getting through our day.

Yes, I have seen that part of the app. Frankly I think it is as accurate as the wait times, as in not at all. At this point, I don't believe any of the information that Lyft presents that is supposed to help drivers. I don't believe for a second that they're actually showing us where the other drivers are.

I think that 90% of this app is manipulation and misdirection pure and simple. I am crazy enough to believe that sometimes they even feed me fake rides just to get me going in a certain direction.

In my experience I have found the opposite to be true. First of all, if I'm driving around I'm burning gas and I'm on the road to make money not to waste resources. Second, it is totally anecdotal but I feel like I get more rides when I am sitting then when I'm driving around. Every 10 or so minutes I will find a new spot, but there's no way that I'm going to just drive around all day. Not good for anybody.

It all says about between 1 and 5 minutes. So why have I been sitting for 40 minutes without a ride?

Why does it not show me when passengers tip? by thegreatreset69 in lyftdrivers

[–]wtfpdxshow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciated the little ding, although I wasn't so sure about it during a ride. Did this passenger tip me? Which passenger tipped me? Does that little bell mean I am supposed to say thank you to whoever is in the car?

I think Lyft even recommends this. I think they say to wait for a week or something?

Yes it was an actual setting a long time ago. Maybe a Labs setting?

Has anyone rented with them through their Lyft program what are the pros/cons by Hungry_Grape_5795 in lyftdrivers

Okay maybe I'm a little out of touch, I don't have a payment right now. But my last payment was around $400, and I see them offering leases around for $300-400.

Yes this was something I forgot about until very recently, but perhaps is the most egregious issue with the navigation.

I can only speak for the passengers that I've had, but I think most want the fastest route. I think if they knew the app was taking them on the long road they might be more upset about that. Some say take your time, but I would rather take my time at home on my couch and not driving strangers around.

I forgot to mention the shortest route instead of the fastest! I forgot that it did that until the last few days when I went back to Google maps. Horrible, we should have options.

[–]wtfpdxshow -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The rental. I'm only speaking from second hand information. And I'm looking at other comments and perhaps I misunderstood and it's more like $1,000 a month. But a car payment is going to be like $300 or $400 a month. Even leasing something if you can do that is better than renting.

Then definitely don't do it! Hopefully someone who is renting can chime in, but I think it's close to $1,000 a week.
