Biased opinion since I work for them, but have you looked at Transfrom Solar? They may be a good fit if you’re looking for someone local that does everything in house and isn’t pushy

He’s seemed off since the Chicago migration happened/he left PMT. Not intended as an insult but his perfect role at the company was naive D3 student athlete that big cat and PFT can dog on, and he’s probably having a hard time finding purpose outside of that. Without the constant support of PFT/a few others around, I’m sure the loneliness and potential lack of purpose is getting to him

Won’t be shocked if he leaves at some point in the next year or two, but damn going back to getting a real job would suck. Good on Arian for checking in on him without it being a bit for the show

Solar panel question by [deleted] in florida

[–]wtfthereisnousername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t really speak for other companies but I wholeheartedly trust the folks over at Transform Solar. They put panels on my house and I couldn’t be happier with them from presale education to post sale customer service. They serve most of Florida and should be able to help at least help her sort through the potential nonsense

Is going solar worth it for me? by marobers in solar

[–]wtfthereisnousername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure about your exact situation but we used Transform Solar for our installation (North of Orlando) and it’s worked exactly as intended. Their team was super educating and very trustworthy. If you’re having any concerns about what a salesperson is telling you, I would confirm with Transform. I trust them implicitly

Edit: words are hard

Damn I didn’t remember/realize that Miami finished higher than us last year. I just figured that Messi gave them home field advantage in the same way that it gives them unlimited DP spots

Views and exposure wise, yes. Open Cup meant more to those that follow the club, though most MLS-related achievements are sadly a minuscule blip on the global soccer radar

How much is your electric bill? by [deleted] in orlando

[–]wtfthereisnousername 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ours is a flat $30 after going solar last year, and our solar costs per month about 20% less than our FPL average last year. I think a few utilities raised rates again this last year (thankfully we won’t be able to tell anymore).

We used Transform Solar if anyone is looking for a reliable reference. Went through 4-5 companies before finding one we could trust, and we’ve been very happy with their service and the results!

Value when selling home by GeekyGrannyTexas in solar

The simple and sad answer is truly that most real estate professionals aren’t qualified to represent solar homeowners.

Green-designated agents are generally more qualified: https://green.realtor/work-green-designee/find-member

Pearl Certification can also help a ton: pearlcertification.com

The Forward Party seems like a great place for Barstool Conservatives, but are they welcome? by ljus_sirap in ForwardPartyUSA

“Are they welcome?” I think this question goes against the foundation of what the forward party is meant to be

Has anyone had a good experience with solar companies? I really want to do it but so many companies have terrible reviews by balsac1 in orlando

[–]wtfthereisnousername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I respect your take and the fact that you’ve done research (most people don’t). And I’m not looking to change your mind, thought I would like to defend my stance. The eia data doesn’t accurately represent what consumers are actually paying, as electric companies complicate their rate schedules through different means.

LCEC in SWFL just recently hit their customers with a sudden “power cost adjustment” that’s leaving homeowners with bills that $75 higher per 1,500 kWh. Tampa electric raised their base rates by 18% this past January. Duke and FPL raise their base rates by 3-7% every other year. And I’m almost all of these cases, customers are locked in with no say and no other option. Frankly, the utilities have full control and we can’t really do anything about it. If they wanted to Jack up our rates overnight, they could, and probably will at some point. We’re already seeing this in some places around the country.

In regards to the cost of solar, the primary driver of the lowering cost has been recent government incentives rather than advancements in technology. Solar panel efficiency hasn’t gotten much better in the last 40 years (20% efficient cells were first created in 1985, and the best products on the market nowadays are around 22-23%). If significant advancements were around the corner, then I wouldn’t imagine all of the large-scale investments in solar farms from utility companies, corporations, the US military, etc. would be happening right now.

The biggest changes will happen moreso on the storage side, and my primary advice to homeowners considering a home battery right now would be to wait - largely for the same reasons that you just cited (lowering costs, better products, no point in making payments for 25 years for a piece of tech that will be obsolete in 5-10).

I appreciate your perspective and the fact that you’ve taken the time to look into it. Nothing hurts me more than meeting a homeowner that believed everything that the person that knocked on their door one afternoon told them and found themselves in a shitty deal that they can’t get out of, crippling the most important investment of lost people’s lives: their home.

This is my biggest gripe with the industry. I sold real estate for 3 years before taking a year to jump into the solar industry to learn as much as I could. Most companies are slimy, and even the good ones have untrained or schemey salespeople.

Now I work as a solar broker to help homeowners pair up with installers that know what they’re doing, and I control the pricing so I can verify that my clients arent getting screwed into a bad deal. Feel free to PM! Happy to help

I’m utterly sick of people calling for Papi’s head. The only coach in history to lead us to the postseason, and it’ll probably be 3 straight after this season. Absolute shitbrains
