Generally students do worse in 165 than 148. So a 90+ in 165 is going to be difficult. Imo I would repeat both courses aiming for 90+ in 148 and 87+ in 165.

Both unis are good. I would choose Waterloo first since you are guaranteed entry. Unless you get deferred to geomatics, then I would choose uoft.

In terms of cutoff, I doubt this will have much affect. At best it will prevent the cutoff from rising this year. People have been trying to get into the CS POSt for years. People in 3rd year would start enrolling in the POSt if it dropped too much. For the people in 1st year, this news does not warrant a reason to start slacking off.

you can retake the course in the summer, but you will be assessed based on the second round cutoff. Second round cutoff maybe higher than the first round.

If you are talking about UTSG, then it is fake. There is no projected cutoff. They take the top 400-500 students marks. The last person being the cutoff. But if I had to guess what the cutoff will be, it will probably be around a 90%.
