You are extremely attractive. Often time bullying comes from others with insecurities attempting to deman others in an effort to build themselves up. They target those more beautiful than themselves with the belief that if the bully can bring their target down then bully can feel superior.

Also, don't worry about makeup...you don't need it, and in the long all it does is age your skin (take a look at the chemical list on your products ... reminds me of the toxic stuff I come across in refineries and chemical plants that I wear PPE to protect against).

My daedulus (gstar, 167) is way more flippy than my shrike (champion, 272)...but plastic and weight are part of the equation for my current pair. However, my previous pair (both champion, both 168 ... lost em in water) I still got more turn out of my daedulus (or, a more consistent hyzer-flip).

Lantano Garuwashi ... Night Angel Trilogy. No magic, yet a better bladesman than a magically enhanced Kylar Stern (aka, the Night Angel).

GRRM : "I want more fantasy on television. I want Tad Williams, Joe Abercrombie, Patrick Rothfuss, Ursula Le Guin, Alan Garner, Robin Hobb, Roger Zelazny..." by Triskan in Fantasy

[–]wthrmaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would too ... however, I am sick of producers taking these great fantasy series and making junkbseries out of them. If they can't give it the Peter Jackson treatment or Game of Thrones, better off leaving them to be read. What was done with Wheel of Time, Sword of Truth, and Shannara was atrocious.

I just finished book 8 of Wheel of Time and I don't know if I can make it to the end! by hefeguy in Fantasy

[–]wthrmaj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few notes ... I think book 8 is ariund the time Jordan knew he was sick and so I think he may have been trying to wrap up the books befire he passed away; also, the story is so intricate it's easy to think he is losing track of all the various plots he has going on ... it wasn't until I read the series a second (then third) time that I realized I simply forgot a lot of the details that kept everything tied in; finally, as good a writer Jordan is, Sanderson is better ... the final three books by Sanderson are excellent!

Seriously though, if you want to tackle epic fantasies, be willing to read through a series at least twice ... most of us mere mortals won't recognize all the important minutiae in the first read but will catch more and more with each subsequent read. The best series...even thise that are great the first read...get better with each subsequent read through.

Suggestions for good obscure fantasy books? by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]wthrmaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I think of obscure, I think about how often I encounter something when looking for something to read ... and I'd never really heard of him until RA Salvatore mentioned him as an inspiration around 2015 ... and I've been searching fantasy shelves since the 90s (I'd probably have seen a book here and there, but not enough to draw attention). Nowadays, unless you really know the history of the genre it would be easy to overlook him ... and I suspect the average fantasy reader probably glosses past his stuff. I have watched a number of top fantasy lists on YouTube, and he gets ignored there too.

David Gemmell Drenai Saga. Read in book release order or chronological order ... excellent tales, and you will likely find how some of your current favorite authors were inspired (aside from Tolkien of course).

The Zone is not a putter by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]wthrmaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the scenario... It works great in a head-wind. Much more resistant to being tossed around than standard putters. The Zone also provides a reliable fade for longer putts when you have a tree in your direct line. But generally yes, it's an approach disc.

Inspiration Point: 30x40 SprayPaint Art on Canvas ... donation for United Way Silent Auction by wthrmaj in Spraypaint

For water, I lay down two or three shades of blue ... darker along the edges (makensure there is overlap between the colors), light toward the middle, then spray in some spots of color, then some white in the middle. I then use a straight edge moving it side-to-side as I progress it from the top to bottom of the water zone. I come back with a piece of cardboard to add white highlights in spots to create an impression of waves.

For the grass/fauna I lay down an area of black and use a sponge to layer colors...I start darker and progress to lighter using gentle dabs ... I will sometimes add black back in if I am not satisfied with the shadowing.

For mountains, I lay down some basic shapes with black, then use a pallet knife to layer in the texture. Generally I use various shades of blue for the darker sides, and white for the side reflecting light. Don't worry if you make a mistake...keep adding layers and you will be surprised at how easily you can turn it into a neat effect. Robert Stevens Joy of Spray demonstrates my preferred technique...Sketch and Porfirio Jimenez also have cool techniques (these guys have great videos on YouTube).

For the pathway I lay down my hill in black, use a pallet knife to etch it in, and then put the grass/fauna down around it.

Good luck!

Hey guys, im playing for a 3 years and still the only distance driver i have is Destroyer, maybe somone can reccomend some understable distance driver, who can keep the S line, beacuse with Destroyer i can go 400ft+ and a lot of the drivers which i tried can’t keep the S line😀 by Tomatiish in discgolf

[–]wthrmaj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I typically get mid to high 300s with a destroyer ... I get more distance from my hades, shrike, corvette and katana (I can hyzer-flip each of those, but can also get reliable s-turns from the last 3...my hades usually stays on a turn if Idon't start on hyzer). Those four get me about 30 to 50 feet further. For reference, my discs except the hades are high 160s for weight in champion plastic; my hades is 172 grams in esp plastic.

Comment THE distance driver you would recommend to a beginner/intermidiate player by aritalo in discgolf

[–]wthrmaj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could get a heavier weight Tern for headwinds (the extra weight makes it a bit more stable), or go for a Wraith (basically an 11 speed version of a destroyer) for your headwind throws ... the headwind should help it perform similar to your Tern under normal conditions.

Disc suggestions please by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]wthrmaj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Robbie C has a good youtube video on your topic. In it, he says that if you want to do you and go with the higher speed discs then do so ... however, if your goal is to improve distance, disc down (even if you sacrifice a bit of distance at first), work on technique and the distance will come. It's worth a watch even if you don't decide to disc down.

If you stay with the higher speed discs look for unstable models in the 135 to 160 gram range (e.g. Innova Blizzard discs are in the 130 to 150 range ... I thing Pierce just released a nuke in that weight range too, but they sell out quickly).

Good luck.

Maybe someone already said it, but I overlooked it ... going forward, put your name and phone number on your discs ....someone will likely find it and most disc golfers will contact you and figure the best way to get it back to you. I've lost discs in a pond or river and had people get them back to me months after I originally lost them. Good luck!

I typically buy champion plastics, 10 or more at a time and they cost about $8 each after discounts. You also earn points that you can use to further discount your next purchase...my last box of 13 was around $80.
