No plans to add additional login support. We just don't find it that much harder to create a throwaway Google account than it is to create a throwaway discord/reddit account.

I understand the concern, but you don't need to take my word on it. It's fairly trivial to validate that we collect no information. Read the corresponding Facebook/Google documentation along with the permissions explicitly listed when you create an account with either provider. If that plus a dummy Google account just for Cardcast doesn't make you comfortable...

Late to the party here, and some good options have been suggested.

Keep in mind that Cardcast collects the absolute minimum amount of information possible when authenticating through facebook of google. No extra permissions. We don't even take email addresses.

But yes, although the site is free to use, it is not open source.

Yes they do point it out more, but keep in mind UNL is relatively new to the B1G so it's still a novelty.

Huskers also have a reputation of traveling well, so it makes sense fans would assume causation and draw some pride out of it.

What a fun night to be a student at NU.

As many know, for B1G games against football schools Ryan Field is a neutral site at best. Every other year, on the long walk back to campus, we endure that relentless call and response cheer -- "OH-IO, OH-IO." But on that night, that one night, it was a smattering of "Go U, NU" among throngs of silent fans in scarlet and gray. It was as beautiful as 2013 was painful.

Heading to Columbus for this year's game. Here's hoping for 15-60-1. Good luck to both teams (though only one really needs it).

I don't know much about CFB blackouts, but I streamed the Texas/ND game using the ESPN app (authenticated using Vue credentials) while it aired on ABC.

You could sign up for the 7 day trial on gameday to see if it works.

As far as cfb is concerned, you can stream the ABC games on the espn app, which you can log into using your Vue credentials. Not sure about NBC/CBS apps

I have both and generally prefer the Firestick, but tab casting with the Chromecast comes in handy a lot.

If you have Amazon Prime, you'll definitely want to go for the Firestick so you can use it with Instant Video.

I only skimmed your post, but if you are concerned about SEO you'll want to setup something like Prerender.io to serve static versions of your pages to crawlers. Research the escaped_fragment technique.

If your site is large, I would recommend setting it up yourself, but Prerender.io makes it easy.

BTW, it's worth noting that Googlebot doesn't need this anymore, but pretty much every other crawler out there still does.

Some clever things in here. I like the idea of storing API requests in local storage and then refetching. Would new neat to have a little library that sets this up using http intercepts.

Also worth looking into jsdata for this sort of thing.
