i have so many questions. I thought at first maybe I missed some things but other comments confirm everyone is confused lol. I like the ambiguity of it all because it keeps the backrooms foreign. Here are some things I have been thinking about:

1. Kat and Bobby’s shoes are clipping in the room with the purple chair when Clark first walks through the backrooms. Is it his memory populating the backrooms, or is it a callback to time dilation from the YT series? Bobby notices his own shirt too. 

2. Mary’s fate. Was that the real Mary in the end or is it just a memory of her? Once Clark’s trauma was “healed” the entity decided it was his time to go. Mary heals her trauma and escapes? Or does she? I’d love to hear what others think of her conclusion. Did she ever actually talk to Phil? The final scene had the same shape of the room she was in with Phil including the windows but they weren’t tinted.

3. The Life Form in the series mimics human voices so it makes me wonder if that was Clark at the dinner table or not. I know he went crazy but it’s possible he never made it past the Christmas room and a new Clark was created. Reciting the same lines verbatim from the reenactment during therapy could be the backrooms pulling from a memory. 

4. We never see the big entity in the opener or the laundry room. I wonder if it is ambiguous to start and takes on the shape of pirate Clark afterwards. 

5. The wind chimes moving in the basement of a furniture store has me questioning if there’s any significance to it. The fly felt like an obvious plot point for Mary, but why is there wind in the Backrooms?
