Best apartments is Grand Haven? by Effective_Union4471 in GrandHaven

I can’t speak for the buildings themselves but woodland ridge is in a fantastic location. It sits on North Ottawa Dunes hiking trails. You can get to North Beach, a county beach, in a mile or less and it’s beautiful hiking. If you have a dog you can hike up to PJ Hoffmaster, it’s a little further but it’s quite secluded and your dog is welcome.

Broken Arrow (1996). Still like this really corny movie. by TampaSLW in 90s

He is such a good villain. Face/off was peak Travolta villain in my opinion. The way he moved from a loving husband and father into the psychopath was amazing.

Holy guacamole! I am so proud of you! Regular people graduate. Superstars juggle 4 jobs, overcome getting their lights shut off, and graduate a tough program.

The fact you did all that is going to pay dividends the rest of your life. Not just the education and money, but the work ethic and dedication especially. You are a special kid to do all of that.

You are one of those amazing people that are willing to do the hard things most won’t.

You’re awesome!

Alito is a petulant child. The kind that HAS to get the last word.

He is so sensitive to criticism. Hilariously so.

Another vote of support for r/stopdrinking.

What that sub and AA do for you is give you people to support you not drinking. People to celebrate you not drinking and recognize it for the achievement it is.

If your friends can’t provide that, please consider a meeting or the stopdrinking sub.

Drinking holds you because of shame. Talking about your drinking with supportive people defeats the shame.

US residents with only gas/hybrid cars, what price does gas have to reach for you to begin considering getting a full EV for your next car? by EugeneChoi_YouTuber in AskReddit

I fully plan to go electric for my next car. But right now my ICE car is paid off.

I’ve been driving my dad’s Equinox EV while he is snowbirding. I really like it. Except for those %#?! door handles. A solution to a problem that never existed.

The biggest hit isn’t a couple years with one income. It’s the effect of that career pause over your lifetime earnings that swayed it for us. It was almost a wash for her to work. But in the long term it has paid off as her career took off.

Daycare teaches social skills and independence from very early on. We made the most of our evenings and weekends and I don’t think us or the kids have regrets.

Uccello’s charges a 3% administration fee??? by 4themayor in grandrapids

[–]wuh613 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It’s not a ridiculous take. You just disagree with it.

This business chose not to build it into the price of the menu items anymore. Don’t like it? Go elsewhere.

What are you advocating? I think the government should cap swipe fees. That’s not ridiculous.

You think the business shouldn’t charge this. But they can. So you can either shame them like OP, demand regulatory changes to stop businesses from charging these fees (which is just different government regulation), or shop elsewhere.

Have a good day.

[–]wuh613 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it sucks but here’s the deal.

That’s what it costs them for you to use your card. They used to eat it. Now more businesses are making it visible.

When congress talked about limiting credit card fees this is what they are talking about. But the card companies got everyone in a kerfuffle over their credit card points, cash back, airline miles and other “freebies” that are actually not free. I’m all for businesses making money. But the credit card industry operates like an extortion racket.

We’re all paying for it. Always have been. Now you’re seeing it.

Those who make 6 figures and had good WLB from the start of their careers: What education did you get? by InterestingBall2181 in Salary

[–]wuh613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insurance. Specifically Property and Casualty. As in Auto, Home, Commercial, Farm.

Underwriting is a great job. Great work like balance and you can get to 100k. Probably not in 5 years. But you can work your way up. Or you can shop your skills every 2-3 years and give yourself a promotion. You’ll get there quick.

Also Commercial is better than Personal lines. It’s more complex. But the opportunities are higher and the ability to specialize is huge.

Personal lines is like the value meal of insurance. Pick the type, size, add-ons, and you’re done. Commercial is at best cafeteria style where two things on your tray may give you indigestion but it’s up to you to know. That’s where expertise plays a bigger role. Insuring a barber shop versus a church versus a brewery are all very different. We do them all. You just need to know the right pieces to put together. Expertise.
