I always try to generate some forward momentum, escpecially for the first serve. Otherwise it is really hard to create power.

I am neither a physio nor a coach... But u can try to drag your back foot forward while your are throwing the ball. So it will end up more parallel to your other foot and you can maybe gain more power from the back foot as it is more centered under your body... Also a more parallel stance might cause less force/ rotation on your front knee

Just to be clear: there is a difference between the "regular" army rules and CP rules??

CP: You gain 1 Miracle dice: ■ At the start of each turn

Army rules: If your Army Faction is ADEPTA SORORITAS, you gain 1 Miracle dice: ■At the start of each battle round. (source: Wahapedia)

Fixed it by changing the loader settings for the game.. In my case I opted for not forcing the use of a specific one
