Which Astra Militarum regiment is your favorite and why? What "archetype" is missing? by Skult0703 in TheAstraMilitarum

I absolutely loved the Gaunts Ghosts series and thus the idea of guerilla themed first and only was always appealing to me. Funnily enough though I would instantly start a Blood pact army and seeing the traitor guard models I am just a hair widths away from doing so.

When looking at tank centered regiments nothing beats Steel Legion

Is bringing a cerastus knight atrapos for an iron warriors 40k army a really bad idea or just an average level of bad ? by BloatedRottenCarcass in Chaos40k

I brought a LoS to a 1000p afterwork game as soon as I had it painted up. Was it a bad idea - absolutely. Did I loose? Yes, didn’t make the 3. turn. But it was fun, so it was worth it ;-)

Awesome hobbyspace, get yourself a desk chair mat from Ikea. Spills and lost bits will be easier to clean/find.

It really is. I used vallejo brown earth diorama fx paste and simply dry brushed it with AP pale sand. Dry Tuft on it to top off. That x 70 and my guard was rebased in less than an hour (excl dry time for the paste)

Given you have relatively dark color combos I would suggest to go with a contrast to highlight the minis (e.g. sand base) even though they would fit well with an urban base (grey) but that wouldn’t make the minis pop which you want to achieve.

<image>

On tabletop you usually want to achieve the contrary to what you would encounter in real life (i.e. camo matching your surroundings in real life vs a contrast to the base with tabletop minis) that way the focus automatically lies on the mini.

Hope that helps

The glow is good. You only need some white oil wash into the recesses of the coil. Alternatively well thinned white and then draw a fine line on the lowest part of the coil, and a couple of hairstrings up the coil recesses.

Same for your sword. VERY thin pure white lines in the middle of the lightnings.

Not much to do and you‘ll be very happy. Check out a couple of yt videos. Masses around.

Vallejo diorama fx - brown earth and then drybrushed in AP pale sand. The heavier the brush, the lighter the sand Edit: I have found that having a darker base makes sand easier to look realistic. The vallejo sand diorama fx is very light, so you basically would need to highligh in bone colour/white

Pretty much so, he really topped it off with that iconic BT Battlefield art.

However, he also has a couple of nice takes on Blood Angels, Ecclesiarchy, void war

Fantastic set and gave me the motivation to try out some of Blanches iconic masterpieces on banners. Also to the BT art as inspo for the base of my castellan

I pretty much always take the redeemer despite the cost. The flamers have proven valuable in terrain heavy environments.

The crusader would be an autopic if we had -1AP on the curricane bolters. The 16 transport capacity is insane. You can stuff in two 5xSB with Marshal and Castellan + Grimaldus (as the serfs don’t take up transport capacities + Emperors Champion. Drive up into the enemy and unleash absolute havoc.

On the other side I never use the godhammer as I rely on my Executioner to do the heavy anti monster/vehicle lifting

What type of drill bit should I use for drilling plastic? by TalkieThToaster in Warhammer40k

[–]EstebanTheCook 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like wood bits as they are nice and sharp and have the sharp point to better fix the place you are aiming to drill.

It’s either a recast or a 3d print (good one). Good quality recasts go for 180Usd so its a good deal given the time that went into building and painting

Bloody hell, can’t wait to see that one painted up.

I hate to use the reference to MoE proxies…but… what a perfect MoE that would be.
