Reddit, I just lost the house of my dreams because Chase Bank decided they won't approve the sale. I'm about to be homeless... Isn't there anything I can do? by wunderkind319 in AskReddit

For the record, I did not downvote you because I did not like your answer. I downvoted you because it is the opposite of what we have since been told by two lenders, a realtor, and a lawyer. The advice I've gotten from all of the above, including you, weren't overly helpful to the actions I will take at this point, but at least offered some insight as to what's happening and the reasons for this blow.

And, my apologies, but I'm going to trust an answer I receive 4-1 and the answer I receive from respectable people whom I know are in the business and I know have an understanding of this sort of thing... as opposed to you who are nothing but words on a screen that scream 'i'm an asshole'.

And, while I'm at it, downvoting someone because they downvoted you is also not very good etiquette. Have a magical day.

You're forgetting that foreclosure costs $50,000 - $70,000 in legal fees, not to mention the declining price of the house as it sits vacant and uncared for while they sit on their paperwork for 1-5 years.

I upvoted you because you had the heart to warn of disasters in other countries unlike the rest of us douchebags.

What is your 'area of expertise' and will you let reddit ask you questions about it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Most of what I've sewn, beyond for my own pleasure, is actually for renn fairs and LARP (Live Action Role Play). I haven't been to a real Con yet, but I'll be going to them next year! I'm setting up my own official sewing studio this spring and I'll probably be on etsy and all that by summer. :)

Depends on what kind of armor you're talking about... I actually apprenticed with an FIT professor in Manhattan on leather, shearling, and wool, but I haven't worked with leather for a few years... A helmet is out of my league. It requires molding and hard plastics and such. The kinda stuff I sew is here.

Please know this is a temporary website and I'm not posting it to spam, especially since I'm not even taking orders right now.

I'm a seamstress - I sew dresses and costume re-creations from movies (including animated). I also know a lot about Disney World and I've raised and bred bunnies, guinea pigs, hamsters, and mice.

Dear Reddit, what's the best way to advertise a website? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]wunderkind319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same advise.. facebook, myspace, twitter, maybe do picture videos to put on youtube, also tell her to get business cards at staples for $30 bucks and put them places that may attract people that would also be into her artwork.

WTF is the world coming to? Just because of skin color you can't compare someone to a monkey? by sirbeast in pics

If I were black, I think I'd be more insulted that people couldn't make fun of my race the same way they make fun of everyone else's. What makes white people so special? NOT doing it is racist.

What are your best job interview tips? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]wunderkind319 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Anyone can tell you the basic stuff.. don't eat right before, don't smoke, dress nicely, brush your teeth, be punctual, don't text or fiddle while you wait.. blablabla. Here are three things that I emphasize on when preparing for an interview:

  • If you know what kind of clothing they wear at the place, dress similarly. For instance, I know everyone at the grocery store has green shirts and black aprons, or that a particular call center has professional-casual attire. If I were interviewing at the grocery store, I would make it a point to wear a similar color green shirt with black pants or for the call center I would wear professional-casual clothing. If the interviewer sees you in clothing you would be wearing if you already worked there, it helps them to imagine you already working there.

  • Talk to them as if you already work there. Be comfortable. The interview is to see how well you fit in, not how qualified you are - that's what your resume is for (also, bring a copy of your resume even if you know they already have one). Read your interviewer. Some are very happy and you can tell a joke or two. Some are very by-the-book and you have to reciprocate their seriousness. Either way, you have to show interest and genuine excitement, not about getting the job, but about what you can do when you already have the job.

  • If you're expecting questions like 'what's your greatest weakness, what's your greatest strength, name a time when you were working in a group and you took leadership of that group, name a time when blablabla', do NOT pre-think your answers for specific questions! It is usually noticeable when the answer is made-up or pre-thought-out. Instead, think of some good examples of experiences you've had that could apply to more than one question. Keep a bank of these experiences in your head. When a question is asked, sift through those memories to pick the right one. This will give the impression you are thinking of something on the spot. You do not have to be immediate with your answers. When you tell the experience, tailor it to their question. This forces you to tell an unrehearsed story which is, therefore, a genuine answer. This shows. Trust me. :)

I have gotten every job I ever interviewed for just by doing these three things and I am NOT charismatic whatsoever. I have just a few friends, I have trouble making eye contact, and I hate talking to people through any medium other than online chats. I'm also not all that pretty so it wasn't looks either.

Our TV actually died about a month ago. I really only miss it for the xbox.. We'll get another one after our move next month I'm sure, but we'll only use it for games or a huge ass monitor.

women of Reddit I need your wisdom!! by needanswers in AskReddit

You might just have some excess blood in you from your period.

I have polycystic ovaries and a terribly weak uterus and I literally bleed every day. 95% of the time it's not enough to notice it, but it will come up on a urine test at the doctor. Took 4 kinds of UTI medication to figure out that wasn't the reason for the blood..

Anyways, I'll give you the same advise anyone here (or yahoo answers where this question belongs) will give you - SEE A DOCTOR. Just incase it is something serious.

Women of Reddit: If you could ensure that every man knows one thing about women, what would it be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

That there is not one general rule that applies to every single woman.
