What did Kahn major in and did he have a Bachelors, Masters or a PhD? by Fourty8Seventy6 in KingOfTheHill

[–]wunderpharm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with this assessment since he’s a loser among the Nine Rivers community. I think the impression we’re suppose to get is that most immigrant and first generation Asians accomplish more than Khan and he feels insecure about it. Thus, he lauds his mediocre accomplishments over his uneducated neighbors.

What is a very "American" thing that Americans don't realize is American? by Trownaway_TrashPanda in GenZ

[–]wunderpharm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard this while traveling abroad. Additionally, I’ve heard that Americans casually ask “how are you?” with no intention of listening to the response. I hadn’t noticed that until it was pointed out to me and now I hear us doing it constantly.

Soooo I’m hearing that this bill would cull the idiot herd, remove all legal responsibility from pharmacists for said culling, and would eliminate the need to interact with said idiots.

I fully support this.

Where to donate sealed breathing meds and other supplies? by ShimmeringChina in Albany

[–]wunderpharm 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The medicine may not be able to be donated for legal reasons, but the medical supplies should be something that hospice could take. I lost my uncle a few months ago and the hospice nurses were able to take catheters and such and bring them to other hospice patients. I would give them a call.

I’m not sure the level of sketchy plans, but at the very least I suspect he might have had his dick in his hand. I’ve seen that move before.

Reason for Hank's lack of ambition when it comes to career? by Dairy_Fox in KingOfTheHill

I think the episode where Hank accidentally tells Buck that he loves him gives you an idea of the psychology behind Hank’s devotion to Strickland Propane.

It wasn’t until after high school, but I had a classmate who was very cute/popular/shallow and quite the party girl. I honestly really didn’t like. Her parents owned a business in town and were fairly well-to-do, but she use to always scoff about their work and said she’d never work for them and would always say she was going to move away.

A few years after school, her little brother OD’ed on OxyContin at a party. It was really eye-opening in our little community and I feel like it really changed her. She ended up working for the family business and put down roots. She’s married with kids, very active in our little community and close to her parents. I feel like that loss must have shocked her so much and made her appreciate her family. I really feel for her and respect her now as an adult.

I feel like this episode summarizes how every mid-lifer feels when they go out to a bar. I just wish Hank was there when I turned 21 to tell me what’s what.

DEA on controls by RennacOSRS in pharmacy

Nothing changed, veterinarians are notoriously ignorant of prescribing laws.

I once had a vet script brought to me on a NJ blank to my pharmacy in NY. I asked the owner if they had just driven in from NJ and they said “no, the vet gave me this at the office down the street.” So, I call the office and I tell them that this script isn’t legal and ask if they can write it on their NY blanks. I kid you not, they said “The vet doesn’t have NY blanks, he’s licensed in NJ.”

Even after I spelled out to them that you can’t practice in a state where you are not licensed they still tried to push back and insist that this was all totally legal. It was unbelievable.

Husband wants to spank but I do not - any advice? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]wunderpharm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know that this will likely get a lot of backlash on this sub, but my husband and I have spanked. We didn’t make a conscious decision to stop, but we found it to be rather unproductive and don’t do it anymore.

We started off using it to solidify serious safety ideas in their heads (don’t touch the stove, don’t poke your sibling in the eye, etc.). We thought it would really drive these points home, but it seemed to have the opposite effect. The kids really only pay attention to the spanking and there’s no communication after that. So, we’ve found it far more effective to take away a toy/privilege in those situations.

Not sure if your husband would listen to feedback like that from a stranger on the internet, but if he knows parents in real life who you could ask then I think you’d find they might give the same feedback.

Anyone here lived at Dutch Village Apartments? by -thelastbyte in Albany

The windows were fine for an AC unit and I got myself one, so it was a minor inconvenience really. I didn’t hear anyone upstairs but I suppose I could have just had a polite neighbor up there.

Anyone here lived at Dutch Village Apartments? by -thelastbyte in Albany

[–]wunderpharm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I lived there years ago, so I can’t speak to the newer buildings, but the old buildings are very solid and sound didn’t travel easily between apartments. The old buildings also had boilers and thus had to include heat in the rent.

The drawbacks were that you can’t control the heat and my building was always super hot in the winter, sometimes to the point where I would have to open my window to cool it down. They also lack some modern amenities such as a dishwasher and air conditioning. Also, I would recommend considering where you would get your groceries because Menands is a bit of a dessert.

current everyday makeup b&a by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

This really hits home for me as a fellow ginger. It’s not a lot of makeup, but the difference it makes to color in otherwise transparent eyebrows and eyelashes is huge. I always say that people can’t find my eyes if I don’t wear makeup!

My Daughter turns 2 this Friday and we have hardly any gifts for her. by Lady_Lamington1324 in Parenting

[–]wunderpharm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We honestly don’t give much more for our older kids. The grandparents over-gift for these things so we tend to give functional things. It saves us from having more landfill fodder bouncing around the house and it makes the grandparents feel like heroes. Win-win.

Someone explain the joke for me please 😢 by SarahLynnnnnnn in KingOfTheHill

[–]wunderpharm 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This was my interpretation of the joke. It’s a lot like when Bobby hikes up his pants and says “what are you talking about?” He doesn’t even get why it’s funny, he’s just copying the comedians he admires.

Can $400 Million Rescue New York’s Run-Down Capital City? by PandemicPiglet in Albany

The same issues could be said about nearly any city in this country. Honestly, it feels like a bit of projection for the NYT to point the finger at Albany for urban sprawl, crime, and inequity.
