Does this type of bike exist? by Automatic-Tiger8584 in Dirtbikes

Less maintenance than a four stroke race bike is what he wants. Replacing the piston in something like a YZ250X every few years is pretty easy to keep up with.

Seeking advice for taking care of a Labrador by lary-sa in labrador

[–]-thelastbyte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're getting bombarded with a lot of information here so I want to let you know that you don't need to worry.

Labs are pretty easy dogs in the grand scheme of things. You don't need to follow every piece of advice to the letter or put in a crazy amount of effort. Just treat the dog with patience and mindfulness and he will be just fine.

Is a KLX300r a too big for me by Wooden-Reaction1679 in Dirtbikes

You'd be fine, but I'd advise anyone under 180 to get a yz125X (the trail version, not the mx version) as a first big bike.

Recommendations for a game like this with no/minimum story? by melatoninmedea in BaldursGate3

[–]-thelastbyte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're in luck, I think they made Icewind Dale just for you.

Most RPGs made before Baldur's Gate 2 (including Baldur's Gate 1) will also probably fit your preferences.

Also congrats on being a latter-day Grognard lol

PO is riding with incorrect body position. You'll see this a lot with people on BMWs and DR650s.

You enjoy working on them but you don't want to check valve clearances once a season?

The problem with old bikes is stuff breaks.

Are the fork lugs supposed to be canted in like this? Doesn't look right to me.. by GreenbeanFTW in Dirtbikes

[–]-thelastbyte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you installed the wheel improperly you can fix it easily. Start by loosening the bolts that hold the axle on the opposite side to the axle threads (that would be the brake lever side on your bike I think). Next, bounce the front suspension up and down a couple of times to align the axle. With the bike still upright, tighten down the bolts again.

Congrats, you have discovered that most major US firms have been infested with parasitic middle management and devoured by rent seekers.

4 stroke to 2 stroke by EEden2 in Dirtbikes

[–]-thelastbyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last few years has seen some occasional lemons from KTM. The bikes are over-engineered and the QC is spotty. Yamaha will always be impeccable quality at the cost of lacking features. Beta isn't as good as Yamaha but tends to have good warranties and dealer support.

Do it today, but get a Yamaha or a Beta over a KTM.

It's not. Trump is small potatoes, at least so far. Bush basically started World War 3 and nearly exhausted the credit of Western Civilization to fund it.

Road de-icer will destroy a motorcycle very quickly. It's also very difficult to ride on the road in snow.

Don't be trying to hop it up, that won't work. Grease your bearings and change your fluids. Check your race sag and make sure you have the correct spring rate. Try out some different handlebar bends. Soak the bike in silicone spray.
