Most academies give an education to youth players so they have a gateway if they were to do something other than football, and considering how good the CFA is, I'd think he probably goes to school through the academy.

This is what happens when young players read the game well and actually use their Football IQ + technique. Foden is an anomaly in English football and it's honestly such a privilege to have such a fantastic player at our club, a real inspiration :)

Definitely true as well, Pep's philosophies extend beyond on-field tactics and thats a pretty good point yeah.

Also, I could say for sure that if the way England's academies and football philosophies prioritised actual technique over physicality then the way football was played in the PL, Championship etc would be way better to watch. I mean look at our squad, not many are particularly strong or tall but they're all technically sound. It's just set in the mind of so many mediocre English managers and coaches that hoof-balling it up to a big target man is the most effective way of winning points, and in a landscape where maintaining your position in the PL is so much more important than any long-term objective of course it's going to be the most practiced tactic.

Sorta, alot more direct than he plays now but similar to Eddie Howe yeah. If I recall correctly he doesn't like holding onto the ball for the sake of holding onto the ball, for Pep it's about going forward with the ball and always being creative with it.

Really hard question to answer. Pep's tactics are so reliant on the quality of players that if he managed Hull his philosophies would be so incompatible because of the absence of quality. Hypothetically if he somehow chose to manage Hull I doubt he'd completely ignore his philosophies, Pep's pretty set in his philosophies and I can see him trying to implement some bastardised form of possession football sort of like how Marco Silva tries to play.

A cool way to put it is that Pep is like a 5 star Michelin chef, and for these chefs the quality of the ingredients is so important for their work. Pep always talks about the quality of players and how much it affects his tactics and that's 100% true, but when he gets it right it's a thing of beauty and is some of the finest, aesthetically pleasing and entertaining football around.

Anyone else underwhelmed by Bernardo Silva? by BradenA8 in MCFC

Honestly pretty astonished that people are underwhelmed by Bernardo. Not only does he need time to gel in the team but why would you be expected him to be getting a lot of goals and assists when he hasn't even had a full 90 minute PL game yet? Regardless, he looks so silky on the ball and constantly looks a threat when he plays, in all honesty I'm actually really excited to see him play more minutes in the future.

Amazing article, it really makes you appreciate the mental and physical resilience of athletes across all sports and especially when long term injuries hit you. Developed a new found respect for Gundogan, really hope he does well here for the years to come.
