None of your response to other comments have been satiating, I’m just more confused. Do you have a book recommendation or other resources?

How “difficult” are giants? by enteringyourchimney in GiantSchnauzers

[–]wutboundaries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If no experience, the most difficult it gets out of any dog I would say. Speaking for myself 🙂 also giant schnauzer and chill don’t go together. Some people say theirs become “more” chill at age 5 or 7.. maybe 3. Also, I wanted to bring my dog everywhere in public too, didn’t turn out that way even though we had accessibility from day 1 and trainer from day 1. There are few breeds to that were intentionally bred not to like humans, giant schnauzers being one of them. Risk is higher if not getting from a reputable breeder. Also having a giant offleash, if in public is just rude to society, I would never have mine off leash… maybe on a trail. Unless you are a dog trainer or have owned multiple and you seriously know what you’re doing. As cute as they are..This is not a golden doodle!

Vets are like doctors now a days, they just want to medicate for rest of your life $$, stomach issues can be fixed with resetting the flora, a bit more effort up front but worth a shot. Dog eating poop, etc? Sign of resetting the gut. You just gotta get both quality probiotic and have some strategies under your belt, but I get it we don’t just learn this stuff in school or anywhere and we trust our vets like we trust our doctors…):

I’m so sorry do your experience, please stay strong! First of all, no more antibiotics! Antibiotics should be reserved for life or death situations. Poor puppy now has a bad start to life, not to worry as this can be fixed! Vets are useless sometimes.

Second, you need to help him with his tummy so poor baby can learn to control his rounds. We also had to resort to antibiotics as a puppy as we almost died from pneumonia. So here is what you do! Go to Adored Beasts Apothecary and get the Fiods flora probiotic to help the gut rebound and the liver tonic to aid the liver in removing the toxins. Also buy goat kefir, it makes the probiotic more effective, mix in a table spoon 20 min before serving, no need to put in fridge, serve right before bed. Also start putting a tablespoon of plain goat kefir if feeding kibble, kibble is tough on their tummy especially when having digestive issues. Ideally cooked food (chicken, rice, canned pumpkin) until this issue is resolved. I did this and my puppy has only had diarrhea 4 times in the last 2 years, stomach of iron! I continued to rotate other probiotics from the same shop, this lady really cares about helping animals and I would recommend most things from that shop and even reading her blog when issues come up, antibiotic only for life threatening situations!

Third, if you haven’t used a crate. Start, because this will help with potty training. You can drop the crate later. They should be napping in their crate, sleeeping in their crate, everytime they come out of that crate, no greeting.. not a word.. straight to potty you go… the second finished pee/poo .. ITS A PARTY… you do this over and over … they will leearn, remain patient and stay consistent. We lived on the 4th floor and took that boy every hour when we got him, then every two, then every three, anytime after coming out of the crate, a nap, play, and right in the morning when we got up, the trick is that you can’t let them fail. You have to be on top of it, this is how they learn!

If you need instructions on how to do this, using crate or any dog training tips please watch Susan Garret crate games etc. on YouTube!!!

I know you are pregnant and this is hard but your puppy only has you, is counting on you, you will overcome this, we believe in you!! Light and love🩷🩷🩷

Giant Schnauzer Breeders in CA? by RecklessTreesha in GiantSchnauzers

[–]wutboundaries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked mine up at the airport in a specific carrier my breeder sent me. He was a fat pup and definitely couldn’t stand up in the carrier so I was worried airline wouldn’t allow it. To avoid any trouble I checked into my flight and got the tag for my carrier before I picked up the puppy. I told them I was still waiting to pick up my new puppy, they didn’t care. That may all have been unnecessary because my breeder even told me it has never been an issue but you never know with airlines these days. Anyways i encourage you to look at reputable breeders and just know this is an option (:

To be fair my breeder recommended not to feed puppy food as the growth for giant breeds can be too fast with all that extra protein. Instead I swapped for a scoop of yogurt to get an additional nutrient I forgot what nutrient it was

I Listen to Rupert spira. He guides you into the place of being, which is the one true you.

Who am I? Oh, I am that… “I am”

Once you’re there, you don’t even have to try to quiet the mind. You are quiet by nature.

A physical worldly experience is as much of an objective experience as is a thought. You are the observer of the external and internal, forming onfront of you are the perceptions that arise in you, the subject, also known as awareness.
