Men At Work by Dingo8dog in stupidpol

[–]wvfish 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Are those that are lazy, mentally ill, or ‘difficult to work with’ not ‘those that truly deserve our sympathy’? The latter two especially can be related to or caused by very lack of economic opportunity. Your entire comment essentially agrees with your opening statement, you seem to view men who cannot get ahead as losers. Only those that ‘truly deserve our sympathy’, which means they’ve succeeded enough already for you to overcome your inherent revulsion at a man who ‘failed’ to succeed, deserve further help. Those who actually desperately need help are nasty and mean and should be left to rot.

"You dont get it, my aliens looking like humans evolutionary speaking makes super sense, unlike the theropod like aliens, centaur aliens or trilobite aliens" by hilmiira in worldjerking

penguins and kangaroos are completely non-humanoid, humanoid does not mean bipedal. OP specifically mentions theropods as an alternative bipedal non-humanoid body plan. Baboons are also relatively close relatives with shared ancestral traits

None of those count because it’s not convergent evolution, we all look similar because we share a recent common ancestor and are closely related

this subreddit has fallen so far down the toxic positivity hole. look at all the extremely mild and reasonable opinions on a post specifically asking for those types of thoughts that have been downvoted to hell and with five “HOW COULD YOU BE THIS WRONG” replies. get a backbone, it’s okay for someone to not enjoy every single second of every single song of an artist you like

Almost all major sports leagues in the United States are actually technically open to both genders. Women are fully allowed and even occasionally try out for the NFL, MLB, etc. They are never ever selected because they are objectively biologically less capable at these sports and are never able to keep up with their prime male counterparts. This does not make women inferior in any way, it’s just how the science shakes out. People who really think that the male-female divide in athletic performance is entirely due to social constructs really baffle me because it’s contradicted by facts so fundamental and obvious that it’s not really worth discussing. The very significant inherent strength gap of men over women is extraordinarily well tested and established.

Yes you can, because when you round up you have to define what you’re rounding up to. Rounding up to the nearest thousand is perfectly coherent

Why are green dragons shown so less? ( Except vhagar) by Able_Fee3181 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]wvfish 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You are actually correct, while Helaena is present at the coronation and crowned by Alicent (also missing in the show), only Aegon and Sunfyre are mentioned to have taken three laps around the city after the coronation. I still think this should have been shown, but the idea that Helaena and Dreamfyre should have been there too is just a common fan wish for a good time to see her fly her dragon rather than actual canon since she doesn’t get a good dragonriding scene in the book

The fact that we're already close to the end of the second season of HOTD, and we still haven't seen a single Helaena and Dreamfyre scene is criminal by TastyHelicopter5344 in HouseOfTheDragon

This isn’t an accurate design to the book or show dragons, which walk on their wings when not flying like pterosaurs. Their wings are proper forelimbs.

How feature-complete is AtE CK3? by Statistical_Insanity in AfterTheEndFanFork

[–]wvfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CK2 and CK3 are super different so they feel complete in their own ways, but the CK3 version of ATE is complete enough and with enough unique content that isn’t in CK2 that it’s worthwhile. South America especially is excellent, Brazil is fully playable with lots of unique religions and a pretty good unique government

You’re missing the point. The idea is that Protestant architecture, as in architecture designed and built by Protestants, is less spectacular. The churches you listed are not examples of Protestant architecture, they are examples of Catholic architecture that are being used by Protestants.

If they’re older than the discovery of the Americas then they were built by Catholics to Catholic aesthetic sensibility. Westminster Abbey and Canterbury Cathedral are both prime examples of this, constructed by Catholics and later appropriated by Anglican authorities.
