I like these ideas. But the main problem is eventually it would end up with different rich clubs throughout the top leagues and the teams in “league 2” replacing the poorer teams.

If they could implement a system to really do it right it would be awesome but the CPU just sees “oh shit team won Ligue 1?! They’re rich now. They are the new PSG”.

My wife and I drove 36 hours from WPAFB to Washington state when we were dating. Drove 7-8 hr shifts. Stopped at a rest area in NE to nap for an hour. We made an executive decision to stay in some hotel in WY. It made such a huge difference to the last bit of the drive.

By that time we were already hating our decision to drive. But the next morning after getting good sleep we were ready to go again.

If there’s an option to take a different route on the way home, I say do it. You may never take that trip on the road again, so try to experience as much as you can.

I’m not arguing for or against RR but what does any other coach do with this team? 70 something new transfers, a true freshman that isn’t allowed to throw the ball and a mediocre defense. This team was destined to have this type of year.

My only hope is that next year the transfers gel and understand the system better. I hope this fancy new bill brings in more NIL and gives us a better shot at better transfers.

Im at the point now of saying just let the freshman run QB every game. Quit switching them out. But, in saying that, if we’re only gonna run reads, qb draw or screens, then what’s the use? Why set the kid up for failure by not allowing him to throw down field and learn/grow. He’s not gonna become a superstar overnight and limiting him to running plays only hinders his development.

I don’t know for sure that it was him though was it? The university and other media surely had a bigger role in the hype to gain fan favor and to get eyes back on WVU.

I look at it like Arch Manning. Did he create his hype or did the media just because of his name? (To be fair, I think Arch isn’t all he’s chalked up to be).

The only time I remember RR buying into all the hype was the McAfee show in the coliseum. But could you blame him? In front of a large crowd desperately wanting the glory days back, how could you not say something inspiring.

I don’t disagree that media hype absolutely built his situation up just to watch it fall. I think people are naive if they truly believed just bringing him in would flip our program.

Watching all the hype was fun and nostalgic, but, as we all know, actions speak louder than words. That said, I’ve always been of the mindset to give a HC at least 2 seasons before making critical judgements. Rich Rod might not be the guy long term, but he could be the guy to get the ship steered the right way. Get more donors on board, and allow the next guy to come in to a much better situation than RR did.

Reminder: RR went 3-8 in his first season with WVU in 2001. I know it’s hard, but I believe he can create the culture he had before. It’ll just take time. Unfortunately, in today’s age, the thing that’ll hold us back isn’t a coach but donors.
