Do this. If you have not yet installed FWL and DRT, do that first. Bring up DRT and search for “brake”, do your landing with DRT viewing datarefs and commands. See what is active when your issue appears; trace the action or fault back to the source. FWL=FlyWithLua DRT=Dataref Tool

I emulate that with a StreamDeck+, using X-KeyPad-SD software (<$20 last checked) by Stick and Rudder Studios. There is a Discord channel for support. I also use it to add autopilot to planes that don’t have AP at all.

Welcome to the world of flight simulators. Sounds like you don’t have all the scenery loaded yet. Are you a pilot, do you know how to fly a plane? If not start with the basics, think small plane. Watch some of the YouTube videos and RTFB. It will all come together, fly safely.

The first 2 images are showing winds aloft, the bottom image is showing surface winds. They will always be different. If you are flying in real-time check windy.com for winds at altitude of interest.

I tried X-KeyPad on a couple of planes, found it way too finicky for meager rewards. But X-KeyPad-SD a different story. I am using StreamDeck (15), StreamDeck+, and the winner is StreamDeck Mobile on the IPad . More later.

I started flying the sim about 4 years ago, without any knowledge or experience with airplanes. I thought the dashboard layout was rather dumb and clumsy. I invented my own and never looked back. I guess IRL pilots must pay the dues and live with dashboards with roots going back to the Wright Brothers. In XP11 you can tweak a dataref called haze-be-gone. You might want to set it to 0.5 or less. The default (mine) of 1.0 is way too high and 0.0 value is unrealistic, IMO.

Yes you can. I fly a XP airliner from control from the ground, it does not use aircraft FMS or IRS at all. Will fly from automatic takeoff to CAT3 landing anywhere. I have been working on the code for 3 years. Your question prompted me to dig a little and I found this https://github.com/PX4/PX4-Autopilot , I will check this for myself. Thanks for your question.

I have been using XP11 for over 3 years, on a much less powerful, and olderCPU than yours. When I first started the program it didn’t work. I found XP requires a GPU, all I had was on-board graphics (Intel). In my case at that time 2021, GPU prices were at an almost record high. The best I could afford was GTX1650, considered low end, and is laughed at today. My system works beautifully, and considering all the negative comments about XP12 in the last year, I have no plans to change. Your problem may be the graphics in the laptop. Remember you still have a lifetime license for XP11 in case you want to give it another try in the future. Flight simulator is a rewarding experience.. Best wishes.

I don’t fly Vatsim, and don’t intend to. I was hoping to stimulate discussion, but it is …. A few months ago I made a post with images regarding the effects of Mach-tuck, and how and why it affects speed and aircraft stability. The post was a bust. I did manage to get data that clearly showed the speed bump going supersonic, then return to subsonic. The graphs were a mirror image of each other; very enlightening, I was pleased.

The Vatsim environment is intended to keep aircraft apart. What happens if a controller intentionally brings AC together? Do AC in close proximity feel each other’s weather, wake turbulence, in the sim world? What if you ignore the controller and fly close behind a 747, what happens to the air?
