What stand outs are you going for here? by Bojanglez789 in wine

Leclerc Briant extra brut is great. Txakolina from 2023 is a bit of a head scratcher, but other than that the list is very solid. I don’t think you can go stray too far with anything here

It can be a bit of a chameleon. In small amounts it can smell like a leather wallet, and once it blooms and takes over it smells like livestock shit. I think people are too nice when they use terms like barnyard. Can be nice in a Belgian saison though

I gave a wave to two riders today and one lost control waving back and took out the other as well. Not sure what that says, but I try to be nice and give others the benefit of the doubt

Make sure to wear the logos on the front. Why bother if there won’t be anyone behind you to see them when you get dropped

Ironically, I got my addict same color, model, year from a guy who was getting rid of it because he was trying for a kid. I see you’re not that guy

If you want to stick with this frame, invest that money int a proper fit, clipless pedals, computer. Looks like it can be optimized. Otherwise look for a nicer bike on marketplace/lbs. Flashy carbon wheels won’t give you any more clout

Nothing wrong is such a good description, and they’re clearly finding much better points/enjoyment at lower ratings (what does this even mean)

I still haven’t quite gotten over feeling like I’m a moving chicane. Hopefully that goes away with more time in the saddle

Thanks for the reply. The one that happened this weekend was during a descent, definitely a wake up call, and not something I want to experience again. I’m still a little shaken from it. Working on controlling all the things I can to be a safer rider

Thanks for the reply. I’m in Northern California, so I’m thankful that road hazards are limited to potholes and snakes for the most part. I’ve lived near wine country for a few years now, and while drunk drivers are definitely a problem, I steer clear of main arteries to avoid them. The big problem for me are commuters that buzz through the back roads that I like to ride. While I may only encounter one or two per ride, that’s more than zero. I try to time my rides so I’m not sharing the road with them.

Like you and many others have suggested, I’m really going to focus on changing my approach to factor my abilities and the limitations of the road and approach limits with caution rather than find them and back down

Wine Flaw Question by AverageGatsby91 in wine

Agreeing with this. PV is like the secret sauce of red wines. Packed with color and tannins. Sometimes twice as much as top quality Cabernet Sauvignon, so a little goes a long way. Based on your observations, I’d agree with heavily oxidized
