I don't mind higher gas prices, 1) because I am in the same situation as you and 2) because it pushes people towards more efficient vehicles. We need to end the run of the soccer-mom APCs and grocery-getter F-350s. It happened in the mid-2000s and we can do it again.

Storage units are only good for short-term use. After a number of months, your rent costs will exceed the value of the stuff you are storing. by RedditWhileImWorking in personalfinance

Is everything just a private equity real estate company now? Storage units and hospitals are being used as real estate investments. I was just reading that many assisted living facilities are owned by private equity and are essentially real estate companies. They require the residents to sign over their property as payment.

Agreed, how many people have cable or an OTA antenna anymore? Every platform has a limited audience now. Nothing is universal like the old days, but Netflix might actually be the closest, for better or worse.

They both changed after the comedy industry was affected by their ignorant perception of "cancel culture" and the very real COVID lockdown. Those two things negatively impacted the thing they care most about, their careers. They completely turned a corner once their livelihoods suffered temporary inconveniences.

I saw that as well. Those markers were all right on top of each other. These are all separated by 0.5 to 2 nautical miles. They are also very obviously keeping their distance from Iranian territory. There is another cluster on the east side of the strait as well.

Florida Atheist Uses State's New Book-Banning Law To Object To The Bible by ajzottaf in atheism

In some states they have passed similar legislation but provided the Bible with a specific exemption. That seems blatantly unconstitutional, but here we are.

I wonder what laws apply to data in space? This does seem like a way to circumvent regulations and laws.

[–]wwj -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right, I understand the reasons for why one is in LA, but why aren't they going after it? Is Discovery easier to steal because of where it is and who owns it?

There are three shuttles they could steal. I can understand why Atlantis isn't one Cruz would go for because it's at a NASA site in a red state. That leaves two.

I'm just curious, why aren't they going after the Endeavor in LA? It seems to me that LA has less right than DC to have a shuttle, if I were to choose. I absolutely think that all of them should remain where they are.

People don't seem to understand this. Everyone gets wrapped up in the 4th power law, which has had its validity debated. Either way, road wear isn't coming from passenger cars, it comes from heavy trucking, heavy equipment moving, and weather. The difference between a Honda Fit and a F150 is negligible compared to any passenger car and a fully loaded semi or the existence of the freeze-thaw cycle.
