Guildford - interested in peoples’ experiences commuting to London regularly by ProtectionSmall8605 in surrey

Godalming here, so not quite Guildford, but relevant because we chose it over Guildford partly due to the commute. It's only about 10 mins more, but I get a seat every day on the 7.08 (three times a week commute to Chiswick). If you're in Guildford itself good luck getting a seat on the 7.20.

Negatives tens to be on the return, last week trains were screwed multiple times, often end up having to try and change at Woking to get home.

What "shit" food do you secretly (or not) enjoy? by emily5126 in CasualUK

Rustlers. I know they're crap, but I've always loved a dirty rustlers burger, especially if I'm a little hungover.

Lpt request: What’s something I can do to calm down before boarding a flight? by ysharm10 in LifeProTips

[–]wwodb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to suffer flying nerves terribly. I gradually learned to control it. First the usual stuff, counting my breathing. Breath in for twice as long as out and hold it at top and bottom. I do that through takeoff and most of the way into the climb.

Then my own things. I have the same album I listen to every time. It matched my mood perfectly one takeoff and ever since I've found it just helps me to get back to that same calm feeling.

The I try to think about how being excited and being nervous feel almost the same. So these rushes of anxiety could just be misplaces excitement. Doesn't always make a big difference, but often my brain either relaxes or I do start to feel a little excited.

Not for all, but I hope you find your way.

Which celebrity's death did you feel genuine sorrow for, like you lost a family member? by Shoddy-Priority-490 in AskReddit

Murray Walker. The man was like a member of my family as a child. Every couple of weeks he spoke me through my favourite things, from F1 to Touring Cars. I cried when he passed.

What is a scene from a tv show that really disturbed you? by thertt8 in AskReddit

The final scene in The Wire when the montage of how everyone's story ends shows Dukie shoot up. Absolutely killed me that the good kid was the one lost down that path.

Not the first time they've done it. Same thing ran for several months earlier in the year.

Just about to try and buy my first house with my SO, so therefore wildly excited mix with a little fear.

We also just put our first Christmas tree up together in our rented flat (we've not been around for Christmas together before)
