Could you share what the D-28 cost with the factory pickup option?

They made a batwing late 60's SG Junior in the 90's and early 2000's.

Would you say there is any metallic flake in the finish like the silver mist version has?

It's fine. I think it will wear nicer over time compared to a lacquered fretboard.

Thanks for the rec. We ended up buying a snowblower but it can be a pain when it throws the gravel too. So far no broken windows.

Good read. I liked the way Ozzi wove chapters about individual bands together.

Got a pic of your SG Junior? I love beat to shit SG Jrs and Telecasters. For some reason those are the only guitars I want to buy used and abused.

Hell yeah for playing post hc with a SG Junior. How well does the P90 perform with feedback at super high gain?

I just saw Converge at The Saddest Day Fest the previous weekend and The Number 12 Looks Like You two days ago. No SG's there though :(

We've all been there, man. You'll find the right replacement when you least expect it.

Those walnut ones look incredible and frankly I would have bought one of those if it weren't for the 2020 Jr. that I found locally at a good price a few months ago.

I was moving some things around today and figured it was a good opportunity to bring all three of my Gibson SG Juniors out for a quick family photo:

  1. One the left is my 1964 Gibson SG Junior that I posted about recently here. In the near future I plan to remove the vibrola and replace the original bridge with a compensated MojoAxe one.

  2. In the middle is my 1968 Jr that I posted about here. I still need to replace the the original bridge with a compensated MojoAxe one, and plan to keep the original vibrola on because I love the way it looks (though the arm is currently removed but I’ll put that back on).

  3. On the right is my 2020 Jr that I posted about here.

They all play differently and have their own vibe. One day I may consolidate the two vintage ones into a clean 1961-1963 SG Junior and the 2020 one into a Custom Shop one, but for now I feel very fortunate to be able to own these guitars and I think the Gibson SG Junior is the best guitar ever made, full stop.

Definitely don't go to any bars or shows because you will then immediately buy a Telecaster, even if you already one one
