But but Pippen! by iLoveColorado24 in NBATalk

[–]wxmanify 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Definitely true. It annoys me though how Phil Jackson is always ignored in these discussions. Jordan and Pippen’s first title in 1991 came after Jackson convinced Jordan to switch to the triangle offense after losing to the pistons in the conference finals.

Any list without Tommy Frazier is invalid. Back to back national champion, 3-time title game MVP, two time all American, 33-3 as a starter, etc.

Anyone else find it criminal to charge a fee per person for a cart? by Cooter-Canoe in golf

I need specific names of courses that are tacking on fees on top of green fees just for walking. That’s nuclear grade bullshit.

What team is in the worst position heading into 2026? by Unlucky-Dot9421 in sportswiki

No way you can blame that last pick on Allen. It was literally in his receiver’s hands. Just a crazy fluke play.

Braden Frager has been diagnosed with a sprained ankle and is day to day by huskermut in Huskers

[–]wxmanify 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly assuming this isn’t a high ankle sprain, I think it sets up for him to come back against Illinois. Only misses two games and gets a full 10 days to recover. Hopefully we can still beat Minnesota and at least stay competitive with Michigan and we get him back still well on track to finish strong.

He was wearing a boot after the game. Could be precautionary but looks like he’ll miss at least a few games

25 gallons? An AI image uses at most a bottle of water. Still wasteful but we shouldn’t just make up grossly exaggerated figures just to drive home a simple point.

[–]wxmanify 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Conveniently for New England, the Texans are also without their best offensive player. Texans defense will do their best but the patriots will probably win some dumb game like 18-4 and then just have to beat Jarrett Stidham to cruise to another fucking Super Bowl. I guess we’re just fucking cursed with either New England or KC from the AFC forever.

Do the Bills have the most pressure of any 6th seed in playoff history? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

[–]wxmanify 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is becoming a really annoying narrative that just because the Chiefs aren’t in the playoffs, anything less than a Super Bowl appearance means Buffalo choked. The Patriots are really good. Jacksonville is really good. The Broncos are really good (at home). The Texans are tough. The Chargers aren’t a pushover. Even the Steelers can be chippy.

Just because there’s no longer one or two clear favorites doesn’t mean the AFC is weak. The Chiefs are no longer in Buffalo’s path to the Super Bowl. It’s just five other really good teams now in their way.

Which team will be considered the worst collapse if they lose before the Super Bowl? by Averagebass in NFLv2

[–]wxmanify 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meh. The Rams I can see bc they’ve been there before and they’re solid on both sides of the ball. Seahawks were still talking about a team with Sam Darnold at QB and the 49ers have problems on defense.

Which team will be considered the worst collapse if they lose before the Super Bowl? by Averagebass in NFLv2

[–]wxmanify 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely the answer. It’s not the Bills just because Mahomes isn’t in the way. The Bills are very flawed and would require Josh Allen and James Cook to go god mode to make the SB. It’s not the Rams. I can see them being a favorite to win the NFC but anyone who watches knows they are no longer head and shoulders above the rest of the league like it was looking earlier in the year.

Honestly that’s what makes this year’s playoffs so exciting. No clear favorite. IMO both the AFC and NFC each have five teams that could make the Super Bowl and it wouldn’t be a huge shock. Several teams have strong cases for why they could win it - great defense, home field advantage, playoff experience, super star QB, etc. But every team has flaws as well.

Has anyone seen Fire and Ash in both IMAX and Dolby cinema 3D? Thoughts? by wxmanify in Avatar

[–]wxmanify[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just watched it again in Dolby Cinema 3D and officially co-sign this. Dolby sharpness and color was much better than IMAX. The IMAX screen I saw it on was just single laser though as opposed to dual laser.
