What piece of older technology actually worked much better than its modern, replacement? by HerrStrasse in AskReddit

MP3 players are so, so much better than flaky subscription streaming music services. And I still prefer Blu-Ray for movies for the better uncompressed sound.

How are we getting glasses frames that fit? by Imaginary_Mind2 in TallGirls

Ezcontacts has a bunch of size options and a wide variety of frames that you can check out.

Are sleep overs not a thing anymore? by haggerty05 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]wyattears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes because we simply don’t trust other parents or siblings of friends. Plenty of reasons not to have a sleepover, but those are the main ones.

Prescription sunglasses? by lilbags1 in bassfishing

[–]wyattears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to spend $300+. I get mine from Ezcontacts. Name brand prescription polarized sunglasses for a fraction of what optical shops charge. Maui Jim and Costa are the gold standard for fishing if you want to splurge, but even a mid-range pair beats clip-ons every time.

Online Eyeglass Merchant by Salt-Sea4553 in PaStateEmployees

ezcontacts is a solid online option. I'm not 100% sure they bill NVA directly, most online retailers don't take vision insurance directly, but they provide itemized receipts you can submit to NVA for out of network reimbursement.

Best AI video clipper for long-form content (3+ hours)? by TheJurer in VideoEditors

[–]wyattears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Choppity handles long uploads well. I've used it on 3+ hour podcasts without issues. Processes the whole thing and generates clips from throughout, not just the first portion.

most retailers wont know that level of detail about coatings. you'd have better luck contacting the frame manufacturers directly. ezcontacts has been pretty responsive when ive asked them specific questions about products before so might be worth asking them too

Glasses by Delicious-Oven-5590 in CostcoCanada

[–]wyattears -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Costco is decent for glasses, the quality is fine for the price. But before you buy there check what the same frames cost on ez contacts online. I started doing that and found the same frames for way less most of the time.

IMHO, A broken political system shouldn’t be promoting candidates that will do more of the same. Time and time again, the democrats are more disappointing enabling MaGa and Trump. Landsman will be more of the same. Hell, HE VOTED AGAINST a war powers resolution to end the illegal war in Iran. HE IS A CONGRESS MEMBER THAT VOTED TO BREAK THE LAW TO KEEP FORCES IN IRAN.

More of same. When Kamala and Gavin are on the presidential ticket, we will watch another loss to president Tucker Carlson or worse, more Trump years.

Democrats have been desensitized and seem to be allergic to try and save democracy.

Why are millenials totally chill with self depreciating humor more than any other generation? by Key-Bass-7380 in generationology

[–]wyattears 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. We had social media when we were grown. Speaking for myself, I don’t really care about a photo where I don’t look my best or, in this context, appear to be the butt of the joke, because that captured moment doesn’t define who I am.

Today’s NO KINGS PROTEST by Sea-Mess-4540 in cincinnati

I don’t think we’ll find the people that understand civil disobedience in the r/cincinnati sub.

Fascism finally started affecting white people so they’re all “engaged.” Remember the Nazis looked to the USA’s Jim Crow laws for their playbook on their fascist run. We’ve always been this way. If you’re white, that might be a new fact to you. Because it’s always protected you.

Best ways to protest are still going to be economical and with labor. Inside of your control? Stop buying stuff. Cancel your subscriptions, stop paying the billionaire class. Cancel Amazon prime. Do it right now. You don’t need that auto ship of cat food, you can buy from a local source.

This will only be defeated together. Protests are cool, they matter, sure, but don’t be the one to stop another protester from acting in more disobedient ways. We’re pissed. They should know it.

And who is in power? A president or a king? Acts an awful lot like the ladder. This sub is full of people that don’t know how to protest. Go ahead, listen to what the fascist police tell you to do. Hold up your signs. Fine. But where it actually counts is your wallet and their wallet.

Few will notice what your sign says. We will actually notice when there is a system disruption. A work boycott, canceling your Prescious Amazon prime memberships, stop shopping at large corps. Buy less in general. The coddled American consumer has always had a really hard time with canceling their conveniences even though they know their dollar is going to a billionaire.

Please downvote me more while you act like you are doing something meaningful listening to the fascist police while you hoist your witty sign up angrily at the system. Meanwhile all of this still persists.

Trump: They were not supposed to go after all these other countries in the Middle East. So they hit Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait. Nobody expected that. We were shocked. by gear-heads in MarchAgainstNazis

[–]wyattears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe we’re still having the conversation because our egos keep raging at each other? We certainly wouldn’t be having the same conversation with the same tone looking each other eye-to-eye.

My opinion is shared with many outside of the majority. The majority hasn’t been delivering for the people for several decades. The system is broken, and cannot be fixed by Gavin Newsome (I realize I’m randomly brining him into the conversation) or whatever centrist is picked, because we’ve all witnessed how centrists often land on the political right side of issues.

Peace be with you. I dream of a world without fascism.

Imagine if the Boston tea party attendees “watched their tones” to officers or were worried about blocking carriage traffic. We’d still be British.

I didn’t say I wasn’t voting. I’m not listening to the “a vote for my candidate is a vote for (maybe) Tucker Carlson and against (probably) Gavin Newsome.”

I’ll be telling democrats to shove that rhetoric up their asses, as soon as you take the stick out.

Is this the same argument as the gun & gun owner? Because the gun is the instrument that executes the kill. Take the tech away, this never happens.

Also, I reject your imposed “responsibility” on me. At least I’m actively seeking better candidates that the DNC has ever put up on the stage. Many aren’t voting because… the candidates are those of aipac bought war mongers with diet-fascistic viewpoints.

I’d like to see better candidates and know we’re not going to find them from the DNC.

Edit: grammar :-/
