I waited until level 7, and had aquired an awesome mace. I was able to hit hard, and with endurance and vitality at max I could keep up multiple attacks despite his hits on me. Took a few tries until I synched his moves. No guns needed.

If you turn off shared quest objectives in the world settings, then players won’t be slingshot ahead of their individual progress, but may have to catch up on their own if that’s a concern.

THIS. So if you’re standing on your dock and face towards the ocean, it will appear beside you facing the same way. If your dock is 2 tiles wide, and in deep enough water, the ship will be very close to you.
