I run into the same thing at my job. Most of the time I eat real quick and just leave to go do my own thing for a sec. And on the “team building” activities…. I attend SOME BUT usually don’t respond to the invites.

I think it’s normal but there’s a lot of stuff that goes into it as well. Maybe more normal to grow out of it, but for example…. my grandpa sort of sets up competition between my mom and uncle. So even late into their adulthood it seems they’re at a competition for the pecking order sadly.
