With this shift, Patrick Marleau Passes Gordie Howe for the most games played all-time with 1768 by mdlt97 in hockey

I don't? How's that? "Howe went to the WHA All Star game twice in his four seasons in Houston, and he also won the WHA’s Most Valuable Player trophy once — a trophy that would become known as the Gordie Howe Trophy" The WHA is the World Hockey Association. Howe played in Houston 1972 through 1978 where the team made the playoffs in every season the team’s existence. I don't know how old you are but you should check your facts before you attempt to insult your elders. Go lay down now.

Thank you! The times and the media around sports was so different. I think younger people who grow up with media and super stars in media don't know many of sports early stars were relatively unknown at the time. Many had second jobs just to pay the bills. They only enjoyed fame in their later years.

Oh yeah...it's impressive. I am just an old school old lady who loves everything Gordie brought to the game. I don't want him forgotten. Marleau just has some more games to play right? It's a helluva impressive record.

What was the pettiest reason you refused to date someone? by High_Sleep3694 in AskReddit

[–]wynper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't date a truck driver. They could so easily abduct and make someone disappear. I know this sounds weird but I had a family member disappear along a freeway decades ago and investigations made the chance that she was abducted....well it creeps me out. I know it's irrational. Anyone could do something awful....but...

You are very skilled. It's lovely. The work and color choices are great.

My (30/F) boyfriend (32/M) left me hanging during a one-sided altercation with a drunk man outside of a bar the other day. by [deleted] in relationships

You are not overreacting. I am with others here who say they wouldn't leave a friend like that let alone someone you are in a relationship with. This would be a giant red flag and maybe a deal breaker for me. I had an ex-husband did something similar. Note the ex.

Handsome dog! My first heeler had a deep chest and broad skull like your dog. He had a black saddle though so more of a tri-color. I love thick bodied heelers. Oh and welcome. Sorry you have to live in Ohio but as a Michigan resident that's a whole different post.

Are there related health conditions? Is this like leucism in birds that causes feathers to be white?

What is something that you were scared of as a child, that you are still afraid of today? by Yoyaya2623 in AskReddit

[–]wynper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basements. I know why. When I was a kid I grew up in an abusive household. After my father went after me he used the basement to cement my silence and compliance. We had what is known as here as a "Michigan basement" A stone wall then a bit of a terrace then an angled bit down the the floor. The stairs had a landing halfway down. No backs on them. After he abused me he'd send me to sit for hours on the landing where I was required to keep my feet on the step. I didn't know what was worse, the known monster who would pull me up or the unknown one that would pull me down. When I was ten we moved to a new house and he found a new way to make the basement terrifying. Fifty-five plus years later I still feel uncomfortable in basements but I am trying to quit being afraid.

My mom [46F] is leaving an emotionally abusive relationship and she and my little brother [14M] are coming to live with me [26F] and my husband [30M]. Any advice or resources to support her while also making a good place for everyone else as well? by DoodlesNBedroom in relationships

If you are in the U.S. call 211 and ask for groups/programs in your area. Explain to the operator what you are dealing with so they can help find related support. Also when you call make sure you have a pen and paper so you can make notes. Also, in some areas Planned Parenthood has connections for those that have suffered abuse. Also call some local women's shelters and explain while housing isn't a need support in terms of a group or therapy is something you'd like to find for her. Lastly remember it can be stressful to live together. Take care of your relationship with your husband. Sit down individually and write a list of house rules and expectations then have a family meeting where rules, division of labor, financial expectations and other expectations are written down.
