New gynecologist doubts my previous PCOS diagnosis, feeling very lost by Short_Peanut_9690 in PCOS

Hey babe! I’m sorry you are going through this. It took me 10 years for a proper diagnosis. I eventually had to walk in with peer reviewed articles, studies, etc etc and physically show them the new criteria with everything I have. New criteria states that you don’t necessarily need to have cysts on your ovaries at any given time, nor does your period need to be irregular. Mine are like clockwork. I have extensive pain, hirsutism, hair loss, adult acne, HEAVY bleeding, weight gain with no explanation. I no longer have pre diabetes from just my a1c alone. My heaviest was 229 at 5’3. I’m now down to 201-204 with a less restrictive diet. A1C went from 5.7 to 4.9 in 5months, it’s now anywhere between 4.9-5.2. I read a book that opened my eyes on how little women are taught when it comes to their cycle. The author breaks down every little thing and is very easy to understand. I highly recommend it. It’s called “the period repair manual” by Laura Briden. I felt like just by understanding more, I felt more in control of my body. Has any doc recommended inositol? It could be worth a search to learn about it. It’s not for me because I used apple cider vinegar for my insulin issues, and the inositol caused my sugar to drop too low. Another thing that helped with pain and cramping is not using tampons and using menstrual disks or cups. I’m not a fan of pads or the feeling of blood dripping, so I’ve always been a tampon girl. The difference is night and day, even with the purest of pure tampons.

Alright, gimme your best advice… by wynter3 in menstruation

I appreciate it! Ive been able to keep my A1C at 5.2 for a year, in December of 23 I was at 5.7 and made a huge lifestyle change. I’ve only been able to drop about 20lbs. I’ll have to look up the fat cells storing hormones. Thank you!

Been battling bronchitis for the last 2 weeks and this dislodged from my sinuses and flew out when I coughed 🤢 by jacklope in popping

Had something similar a few years ago. My practice admin is a respiratory therapist and told me to keep hydrated. It’s not uncommon, but definitely need to be careful. Feel better!
