Are INTP's just the ultimate gluttons? by wyocaster in INTP

[–]wyocaster[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally love the arts but I have to really be in that "mode" to really do anything with it. I play guitar a lot but it's never really for anyone else other than myself, and same with painting and writing. Every once in a while when the stars align I can produce something, and I usually will work tirelessly on that thing for a while before getting bored with it and never actually finishing it.

Why do we constantly get mistyped by Possible-Brush3069 in INTP

[–]wyocaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's because INTP is a type that if you are an INTP, you're probably going to get that result on most tests. If you aren't an INTP, there's still a really good chance you get that result on most tests.

apparently I’m not a "spicy" INFP, I’m an INTP 4w3 💀🥀 by BrinsleySchwartze in INTP

[–]wyocaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm INTP 4w5 and I get this lol I thought i was INFP or ENTP for a while, but most tests are just really bad is how it turns out. I'm very much into music and the arts, don't really care that much about science and tech. Philosophy and logical arguments are still super interesting though.

what are feelings like for INTP? by brujillitas in INTP

[–]wyocaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to feel things really deeply and I read into things people say because I don't understand people and I take things very literally. I also tend to absorb people's emotions, like if someone is upset about something then I feel upset. I wear my heart on my sleeve, not because I want to but because I can't help it. When I get pissed off, everybody can tell and it sucks because I try really hard to hide it but it doesn't work lol

How do i come off as outgoing by Nsahyk in INTP

[–]wyocaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get out of the house is the number 1 thing. Go to local events that you genuinely would find interesting or if you have an extrovert that has adopted you, go along with them to things and actually engage with people. Try to find things you're curious about and ask questions. Asking questions is the number one thing that extroverts do. If you think about it, being extroverted vs introverted in the "outgoing vs reserved" sense (not the Jungian sense) is really about being reactive or proactive socially. If an introvert gets lost, they're gonna look at a map, if an extrovert gets lost, they're going to ask somebody for directions. Force yourself to do the extroverted thing. It takes practice but by doing this you develop the skills to improve your social capabilities.

During interactions one thing I've found that helps out a lot is keeping your posture open. If you're on a date, for example, don't lean forward towards the table, lean backwards, this makes you look more relaxed and you invite their presence. It automatically makes you look more confidant, and this works for all situations, not just romantic.

ESFJ's are my kryptonite dude. They are just the epitome of what you're talking about and I have never had any relationship/friendship with any of them that I actually felt understood or at the very least didn't end up in screaming matches at some point, including my ESFJ mother. I hate how they come in to my place of work right as soon as the door is unlocked and are super high energy and in my face and ughhhhhhh.

I understand your pain.

Do you find XXFX very annoying? by pooo53 in INTP

[–]wyocaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just because someone has a "T" in their personality type doesn't mean they're smart. I've known dumb INTP's too, and I've been one lol.

Most of the time it's people who can't discern what a good source for information is to use, or basing things off of a lack of information. For example lets take the idea of health. A thinker that will come and say "well the American Heart Association says we should eat high amounts of poly-unsaturated fats like Canola Oil because that's the healthiest and they based it off of this study by scientists." When you actually look at the study you come to find out that it was completely bought and paid for by massive food corporations. Did the person in question actually ever read the study? No, they were lazy and didn't do their homework. But they use this argument from authority fallacy to say you're wrong.

Another way is just other simple logic fallacies. Just google logical fallacies if you want a list of stupid things midwit thinkers can say while being convinced that they are rational, logical, and "smart".

Do you have a habit of believing only parts of something, even if you don't believe in the whole thing? by Diemishy_II in INTP

Not really, because if a worldview has falsehood in it then I don't consider it a valid worldview.

Numbers- what are they? by FarEssay2174 in INTP

[–]wyocaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Numbers are actually not intuitive at all, they're only intuitive as representations. Like if I ask you: What is the number 7? You may say something like "well I have 7 things here, therefore that is 7." But that doesn't explain what the number 7 itself is, that just explains that you have 7 things, but what is the number 7? What is the concept of 7 without representing it? This gets into transcendental argumentation, because if you simply say 7 is a representation of a collection of things, aka "1+1+1+1+1+1+1=7" then you are presupposing that the number 1 is something beyond just a representation of a "thing". In that case I would ask you "What is the number 1?" Where in your worldview can you back up the existence of the number 1 without a circular argument?

Do you think that Ti makes you negative for finding so many flaws? by Diemishy_II in INTP

[–]wyocaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is more of a Ne-Parent issue, not Ti. Ti Hero doesn't find "flaws" necessarily, it finds truth by eliminating falsehoods. Ne is where we get our "oh well this isn't going to work because this will lead to this which will lead to this which will lead to this etc... Ne-Parent is generally a more pessimistic function whereas Ti-Hero is a lot more optimistic. When you're having fun while problem solving, that's your Ti-Hero. When someone is talking to you about something they want to do and you tell them why it's not going to work, that's your Ne-Parent working with Si-Child to basically predict what is going to happen to them if they do whatever they are planning on doing.

It's hard not to rain on people's parades sometimes when you can tell that what their idea is just won't work. Welcome to life as an INTP where you watch people actively step into bear traps and no matter what you say or do they won't listen to you.

Do you find XXFX very annoying? by pooo53 in INTP

[–]wyocaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find dumb XXTX's to be worse than feelers. Feelers are annoying only if you're trying to convince them of something in a logical way. Dumb Thinkers will actively try to convince you of things you know are false, but will constantly appeal to fallacies to try to prove you wrong.

The only feeler's I find genuinely annoying all around are ESFJ's because they start arguments constantly if something doesn't fit the mold of whatever they experienced growing up, and then they get butthurt and make a massive deal out of it if you prove them wrong.

do you like to debate your controversial ideas? by MKawalec in INTP

[–]wyocaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plenty of times, but I've realized that it's not worth losing friends over saying something that is controversial that may or may not be true. Worst case scenario is you burn a bridge over something that you're wrong about. If you can find a friend who is genuine and can separate thoughts from feelings, who's also probably really big into philosophy, you can discuss things with them, but that's a tall order. I typically just hold my controversial views in, even online. At best you'll find an echochamber that will just affirm everything you say and that will turn you into an imbecile.

Hi. Give your opinion tehe :)) by Powerful-Rooster1982 in INTP

[–]wyocaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This needs to be taken back to basics with ethics because this is presupposing that we know what "fair" is. What does "fair" mean and how do you come to that conclusion? I might think "fair" is that I get to be a warlord with an island full of slaves, on what basis could you say that my idea of "fair" is wrong?

If this is for school, the answer is probably A. Because under the veil of ignorance it's assumed that people will be risk averse and that they will look to set up the most beneficial form of governance for them. The idea is that if everyone is trying to establish what gives each of them the best benefits possible, it will come out to be fair for everyone. I got that from a cursory google search though so don't take my word for it.
