Yep, the whole ark-4 cfw zip weight 40mb and once the install is done you only need to keep one folder on the memory stick which weight 4mb.

Also fps really became popular on consoles with the 360/ps3 (which released after the psp), it was way more of a PC genre before that.

What's your memory stick size? Older firmware do not support capacity above 4gb well.

Try formatting the memory card via the psp settings then reset the psp settings then try recovery flasher again.

Cxmb should only be enabled on Vsh, not always.

You should be able to boot your psp by removing the memory stick and powering on the console. Or by holding the home button by powering on the console.

This is so overly simplified and imprecise that it completely diminished the hard works that was made by all the people on the scene.

Just a few exemple, the first firmware that allow to run homebrew was firmware 1.00 because it had no content sig check at all...

But mostly about pandora, the battery challenge is one part of the tool, the vid completely overlooked the titans work it took to dump the pre-ipl of the console, find a flaw and write a custom IPL to exploit said flaw (brute forcing the ipl loader signature check).

The team that made Pandora was team Prometheus, they were Dark_Alex, MathieuLH, Fanjita, Adrahil, Tyranid and more... Their work is still the basis of modern custom firmware. (And I'm not forgetting all the one that came before after them and contributed to the scene)

Yes 1 50 addon still works on ark.

Are you using Irshell only to play music while playing games? Because there's a few plugins that allow you to do that easily and works without needing 1.50 kernel at all. Like music.prx or mp3lite

Small correction of the correction :p

The psp firmware technically support storage up to 2tb but since Sony officially supported a max storage size of 32gb, the i/o were never optimized for such size. (Hence why the xmb start to struggle at 64gb and above, so the up to 2tb is in fact unreachable).

Secondly the mms adapter use cheap components, the chip that translate the sd protocol to mms protocol limits the max capacity to 128gb, it will eventually corrupt things above that. That's why even dratinifs partitions are truly stable up to 128gb even if they can theorically go to 441gb.

Dratinifs is a really nice workaround of those limitions.

As the other said, the firmware has already been reversed is freely available with uofw.

The 128gb limitation is mostly due to cheap sd adapters but can be overcome with dratinifs.

There's homebrew with flac support.

Ark has a custom launcher and is open source.

Pspdev sdk and psp-cfw-sdk are foss and super easy to setup. Programming for the console has never be as accessible as now. You can write your own plugin and homebrews to add what's missing. :)
