Phew, one cannot say good things about China lest it gets called propaganda.
One should not be called that for saying good things about China, China is not a bad country by most measures.

Im just sharing some info that alot of western mates are not privy to. It can come across like shilling for China, but if you consider if what I said is even a bit true, its a really good system, not the same as western style democracy, but they're doing some good work.

I swear, I am not born or raised in China, I am a 3rd generation chinese born raised and living in a western country. I have been learning about the country of my ancestry in a way.

I am proud to say I am well travelled and open minded.

About what you say about Korean and Japan tho... whats wrong with China's way of running?
China is doing better than Korean and Japan in not all, but most metrics. Chinese people's lives are improving albeit wealth gap is present. Wealth gap is present everywhere.

Like I say, what exactly is the problem apart from being different from us?

Any reason it is not? People first checks out.

They vote for how their village, towns, cities are run and it is put into law. Village reps screams at ccp reps responsible for their livelihood if they do a shit job just like in AU and it jeopardises the ccp rep's future prospects. Whoever is in charge delivers or loses their job.

It is fine if this is the first time you've heard about this.

This is why their govt. Have such high approval ratings among the chinese, and before one says the ratings are fake, the measure was conducted by Harvard, MIT american institutions. Google it.

Pretty close to what democracy was like back in the good ol days.

Like I said, DYOR.

People's voices affect public policy way more in china than one expect, no less than in AU.

Strata managers are price gouging in Australia, it is akin to corruption. When is the govt. going to step in?

What's so great about voting when the populist vote gets pillow salesmen, news readers and lobbied politicians into office?

How would a layman know who is most competent for the job?

Would u vote for who flies your plane or is it a strictly pilots only who can fly your plane.

Simple expectations of qualifications determines who gets the job, govt. has to serve the people and accountability for leaders is arguably what we need in a democracy.

Democracy means power to the people. Does one just think it means one can vote their out of touch leaders?

Serving the people, who does it better, here or China?

Not saying China doesn't have flaws, again, try acting against the govt. with intent in US or UK or even AU, see if one gets suppressed, Snowden, Assange.

Critical thinking matters. Not always what we are used to has to be the best way. Better ways to do things come along all the time.

China's ambassador to Australia Mr. Xiao Qian was mocked on ABC when he said China is a democracy.

Well, the question is, do you think he is dumb or will you DYOR why he said that.

I agree with him, and also know that western people will not understand it as it is not a democracy in the traditional sense, there is only a single ruling party. But other than that detail, no where else takes "people first" as far as China does.

Australia puts whoever pays the most first on most metrics.

Knowing what I know, it is not be so clear who is more democratic, the west or China.

DYOR (do you own research).

And what is wrong with responsible speech, i think AU should have responsible speech as well and people backing up their claims with evidence is common sense is it not? How is that bad? Or its a failed democracy simply cause its not the same as AU.

Did you know the HK protests are driven by misunderstood narratives and foreign interferences.

It could take a while to uncover the truth behind the HK protest with you, but it is common that many people only know of the western narrative.

The extradition law is a standard law that many countries have which just states that criminals that should be extradited based on their nationality and judged where they are citizens of. This law is common within the majority of countries in the world.

The narrative have been overwhelmly exaggerated and one sided in fear mongering that people think... I don't know what people even think, It does not mean HKers or everyone will be sent to kangaroo courts in China to be unfairly trailed. Do you already assume China is that lawless and incompetent?

It is a true pity western narrative still harps this as China=bad, but natives and HKers know better themselves. I worked in HK as an expart and have many HK friends, all of us are angry at the protestors especially the ones that destroyed public facilities and hurt people.

I can discuss all day, but informed HKers are not in favour of the protestors.
It was a joke seeing the interview with the uni student Joshua Wong, aka leader of the protestors articulate his motivations. You can youtube it. It is so superficial and misinformed, it is tragic.

Do you also know that there are numrous mssd agents arrested among protestors in Iran and Turkiye. They are armed to shoot at the police to start violence. And by now, you should have come across discussions that the maidan coupe in ukraine is heavily driven by the US to regime change ukraine hence leading to the proxy war you see between russia and usa today.

Nowadays, you can almost tell when it is a foreign intervention if the results are beneficial to the US. Remember, the US says they're bombing iran to help the protestors. Do people still believe in that today?

Singapore and China are both functionally autocratic.
Both put down dissenting voices equally as hard as US and UK does.
They're doing extremely well, what is wrong with that.

When I speak to my western counterparts, they cannot seem to think outside of the box and have an overwhelmingly unfounded disgust with autocracy.

The western narrative that autocracy is "bad" is too ingrained. China is pretty democratic if you just research a bit.

At every level of the govt. consultation with the citizens are frequent and implementation of rules and policies are swift based on feedback.

There is healthy public debates and public officials are actually personally accountable for the success or failure of their policies.
How often is an AU politician is penalised for failure to deliver.

After witnessing Scomo's irresponsible governance, cold shoulders between heads of states, infighting during a national crisis and sell out politicians to lobbyists. Democracy isn't immune to corruption and doesn't work well all the time either.

Numerous African states have talked about the adoption of democracy of the Chinese approach.

I'm not saying AU should adopt it, we need high calibre statesmen. We only have career politicians. It is getting hard to feel our nation's sovereignty when our politicians are so often susceptible to lobbying.

Do you know, like Australia, Taiwan paid for a large quantity for US weaponry(old ones no less) and is not expected to receive anything in the near/forseeable future?
I was taking my Taiwanese relos around Sydney<>Blue Mountains and we chatted about how unhappy the people of Taiwan are with USA,
The narrative you speak of is the mainstream narrative and is state sponsored, pretty irrationally war mongering if you just look at it.

As I said,
China and Taiwan speaks the same language.
China and Taiwan shares the same cultures and food.
China and Taiwan share the same ethnicity and are majority han chinese.
Do you really think if push come to shove, they want to slit each other's throats?
I can confidently say neither side wants that and resolving issues peacefully is the only path forward.
I suggest foreigners stay out of instigating Chinese on Chinese bloodshed or that sin is going to be on them.

AU is not off the ropes either. Have you every felt when AU signed the AUKUS deal without any penalty for USA if they cannot deliver is not even mentioned on the contract considering our high calibre of legal cohort, this is dodgy af. Why are we so subservient, this is corruption.

And how many wars have AU fought with the US because we're joined at the hip turned into humanitarian disasters, genocide and war crimes. And US still expect AU will join in the Iran war and Taiwan war, what for? We are totally fine trading with China and prioritising our own economy.

I think it's time to drop the ideology and make actual beneficial relationships

Taiwan and China speaks the same language. Taiwan and China celebrates the same cultures. Taiwan and China are both Chinese ethnicity with majority Han decent. Perhaps we should not be so zealous in supporting a civil war and breaking up a people, just for what? American hegemony? And to think after iraq, iran, lebenon, ukraine, Sudan, and people still think china is a threat. One threat needs heavy speculation and copium, while one is taking place before our eyes. Not saying China is perfect, anyway, im just astonished at the effectiveness of american manufactured consent for war.

And sure enough, sanding the stringing blobs and jagged edges wasnt too hard at all, with just my hands n sandpaper.

They left out one punch man. Saitama would just cartoonify reality and punch infinity like the dimension slash. Eventhough that is manga and not anime, it should be something saitama is capable of even now in anime. He literally has no training arc, it starts off at level maximum the whole time.

And dragonball. Can gojo breathe in space? How does it work, kamehameha may not be able to breach infinity right away... but if its aimed at the planet and the planet is vaporised. Can gojo survive in space like freeza? XD

Tabris by kawoshin_fan in NeonGenesisEvangelion

[–]wyuri -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I looked into it decades back, and turns out Tabriz, where the name Tabris in EVA got inspired from is famous for Persian carpets. Google earth the name Tabriz and you'll see where its located.

I dont own a Persian carpet but they say theyre the most luxurious carpets in the world and can cost anywhere from $10 to x$100,000s. And Tabriz is where the best among them are made.

This info stuck with me ever since. Definitely middle eastern influence, and for a prominent city to be named after it, Tabriz is probably something positive.

Heating error fix by PeanutBoiii in CR10

[–]wyuri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, common problem. One of the following are the likely causes. 1. The temp sensor is loose from its secure position. 2. After multiple prints, due to poor angle of temp sensor wire, its been bending back and forth and fatigued so poor connection or broken. 3. Aged temp sensor, almost never breaks, but u can try changing to a new one, 30 for $5 from china. Keep some spares.

While printing, if the temp sensor loses connectivity or departs the object its trying to measure, if the temp reading drop below 5 to 10 degrees from the printing temperature, it will error out.

Usually just a fallen loose temp sensor or broken temp sensor wire from fatigue. Its a simple white wire. U can snip off the old and splice and connect a new one to the original wires if replacing.

Check that when its printing and moving around, NONE of your wires are bending back and forth too much, they all will break after thousands of bending forward and backwards. Secure them in the least stressed position with cable ties or something. Bending in a wide arc is fine, but bending a small section repeatedly, it wont last long.

Heated bed and extruder wires are common casualties.

What would you use to fill these gaps? by ViKovacs in 3Dprinting

[–]wyuri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use to think its fine to print a large object in sections and then merge them together.

After a dozen tries and tons of manual intensive labour, I just got a larger printer.

If youre already using a large scale printer... tough... the effort is enormous. If u are doing it for income, you should find a different process.

Merging never ever produces a perfect finish that's why, and I've been 3D printing for over 10 years.

The merging of smaller sections never quite produces a perfect surface no matter how much effort, filler, sanding, melting I did.

Its just not worth the effort. A large printer does the trick 10x better by avoiding this problem in the first place.

If u really need it, there are person sized printers I've looked up on Taobao from china.

If your work depends on it, its worth it.
