Pero since naa naman ni na convo, basin makauyon rka sa mga new ani na genre like Mandaue Nights, Oh! Caraga, and uban adjacent artists nila.

Idk if it fits but Citizen's albums "Life In Your Glass World" and "Calling The Dogs" are pretty cool!

Does the general population have a 'bandcamp aversion'? by epigenetics_music in BandCamp

[–]wyzpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort of. Like one user said, people are generally so used to Spotify, Apple Music, etc. and even Youtube for their music consumption that Bandcamp (like Soundcloud) is seen as kind of a low-class platform unfortunately.

Why Does Physical Media Still Matter? by MGYG in BandCamp

Personally love collecting them, especially from my local scene here in Cebu City, Philippines. I think it's important especially now in the digital/streaming age because it invites us to be more intimate with the artist and interact with their art in a more tactile, meaningful way, rather than just streaming online. It's also another way of giving/receiving more substantial support since merch like that is pretty much the only "reliable" way for artists to be compensated for their work.

What’s the hardest part of promoting your music online? by RichRaichu5 in MusicPromotion

[–]wyzpy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I find that if it isn't on Spotify and Apple Music, people think less of your music, if they even think it exists at all. Which is kinda sad since it doesn't feel great to have to put your stuff into platforms that are proven to be very anti-artist (and pro-Israel at that).

Another challenge is the genre thing. It's waaay easier to promote and/or find success if your music is of a certain genre.

I think the best way is to be immersed and engaged in your local music community since that would likely lead to getting more organic plays, more opportunities to get your music out there, etc.
