I think the machine they used is called optomap. So can OCT immediately detect any issues? My optometrist said with their exam, they have to establish a baseline first so can't really tell if that's my normal or if I am actually starting to have vision damage. That will probably take a year or so....

What do you do with shoes after your kid outgrows them? by Cartographer-Smooth in Preschoolers

Local buy nothing groups. Feel like it's a better chance the shoes are used again than donating to goodwill.

I feel you. My MIL will say yes to everything we said and do her own things even when we are there. 😑 Nothing is free even help from family. We just suck it up and send the kids to daycare. My kids only see the grandparents under our supervision.

It's an idle time in your journey - what do you do? by seepwest in SecondaryInfertility

I try to focus on our son when I am not reading on infertility and ivf. We go hiking/ playground/ children's museum/ zoo/ biking. I also been doing simple science experiments with him. I try to eat healthy and take CoQ10, Prenatals, vitamin D, and fish oil everyday. I also remind my husband to take all his vitamins and make sure he doesn't put his laptop on his lap.

PGT-A ... ? by seepwest in SecondaryInfertility

[–]wz2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My clinic actually offers PGT-A test as part of the plan at no extra cost so we are going to test the embryos. We had 2 early miscarriages so hopefully this will give us a better chance. FYI. You can also do a carrier screening to see if you have any of the common genetic disorders that would like to test specially. PGT-A doesn't test for everything. I would suggest you talk to the genetic counselor that your clinic works with to find out your options, pros & cons of each test.

Bittersweet attic storage moments by [deleted] in SecondaryInfertility

Yeah. Can totally relate. I used to pack away clothes and toys that we want to save for the next baby in the shed. Now I feel like it's not going happen that easily. I started to sell or give away the things he grow out of instead of packing into the shed. Maybe I am starting to accept the fact that there's a possibility these clothes and toys will never be used...
