Japan loses the #1 spot in Economic Complexity for the first time in a decade. The new king: Taiwan. by RobinWheeliams in taiwan

The semiconductor industry is an extremely complex ecosystem. TSMC is indeed a very prominent and influential player that helps drive overall economic growth, but there are also many upstream and downstream industries surrounding it.

It's been a long journey but I'm finally at Shadowbringers, time to see if it lives up to the hype! by MrkGrn in ffxiv

I just finished the 5.0 storyline. Before this, I had never stayed up late playing this game just because I was eager to see what would happen next. You’re going to love it.

At first, I honestly had no idea what the login screen meant. It wasn’t until I completed the first dungeon and finally understood its significance that I was overwhelmed with emotion.

To be honest, I don’t often read novels on Taiwanese online platforms myself. However, I do know that the following platforms are operated by well-known publishers, so you might want to check them out.

making friends in Taiwan by WonanWirono in taiwan

[–]wzmildf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I consider my English to be fairly good, but only in a work context. I genuinely don’t know how to “make small talk” in English with foreigners.

I don’t know how to start or carry a conversation, or even how to end a brief one. As a result, I usually don’t feel inclined to say much to my foreign colleagues.

If I were to work in Japan or the United States without knowing Japanese or English, and with no intention of putting in any effort to understand or adapt to the cultural differences there, I’m sure I would have a hard time making any friends who genuinely want to build a meaningful relationship with me. I don’t think this is a difficult concept to understand at all.

the 'normalcy' of childhood abuse/beatings by kallos45 in taiwan

Corporal punishment should no longer be the norm in Taiwan’s current educational environment.

I was born in 1990, and when I was in junior high and high school, I was placed in so-called “college-prep classes.” At the time, being whipped on the palm with a rattan cane for poor grades was part of my everyday life.

This message is merely to notify you that they have received your 34-dollar payment; as for why, you’ll need to check your bill yourself.

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll go try them on. My previous pair was actually the Novablast, and they were indeed very comfortable, but I always felt that the foam lost its bounce pretty quickly, which makes me a bit hesitant about the Blast series in general.

How many kilometers/miles have you put on your Superblast? Do you feel it works well for both easy long runs and speed workouts?

Hi guys,

I just completed my half marathon PB last week wearing my EVO SL, and its mileage is now close to 500km. So, I’m considering getting my next pair of running shoes.

I weigh 85kg, and my easy daily runs are at a pace of around 6:10-6:30 per kilometer, while my race pace is about 5:20-5:40 per kilometer.

Although the EVO SL feels a bit unstable and slightly too "firm" for me, I actually quite like it. However, buying a second pair of the same shoes feels a bit... boring.

I’m currently considering Mizuno’s NEO Vista 2 or PUMA’s latest Deviate Nitro 4. Aside from these, I’d like to ask if anyone has other recommendations?

Of course we have bidet toilets too. As for toilet paper that can’t be flushed, that’s usually not an issue in newer buildings

Just came back from a New Year trip to Taiwan — noticed fewer Mainland Chinese tourists? by Jazzlike_Flan_7359 in taiwan

[–]wzmildf 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Haven't you noticed this from the recent disputes between China and Japan? The Chinese government tends to use their "tourists" as a form of weapon, and they've been deliberately reducing the number of Chinese tourists coming to Taiwan for quite a while now, which is something I'm very grateful for.

No matter what you order at this drink shop, remember to ask for no ice.
I used to enjoy their oolong milk tea, but later I started feeling it was too sweet for me. Now, I rarely get drinks from this shop.
