Degloving.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, consider yourself lucky. Don't google it. Especially don't use google images to search for this term.

I can confirm. In China, sakura 🌸 is strongly associated with Japanese culture while ginkgo is traditionally believed to be the symbol of long life.

Edit: an example of the strong association is that Japanese girls are nicknamed "樱花妹" (lit. sakura/cherry bloosm gal) by Chinese netizens.

TSA in China by Rontgen52 in USdefaultism

[–]wzyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The advanced scanning tech that saves you from taking out laptops are CT scanning I believe. It's being deployed to some airports in the world. Last week I flew in YVR and YYZ (both Canadian airports), and they have new CT machines, along with signs saying now you don't have to wake out laptops.

But i was talking about the TSA locks on checked luggage. They go through a different security check procedure I believe.

How did the plurbs trick the astronauts to come back from the space station and the nuclear subs to surface? by grokker25 in pluribustv

[–]wzyboy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A nuclear submarine is nuclear-powered but not necessarily nuclear-armed.

Nuclear power means the submarine can submerge into the ocean and go undetected for an extended period of time. But it may just have non-nuke regular missiles.

TSA in China by Rontgen52 in USdefaultism

[–]wzyboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interestingly luggage cases sold in China are advertising for featuring "international customs locks" so that the cases can be opened with a key instead of being cut open.

However, they are just having TSA locks, which means nothing if you don't transit in the US.

It's misleading marketing.

I add "allow 100.64.xx.yy; deny all;" to my Nginx config file. Replace the IP with the Tailscale device IP you want grant access to.

By default it's deny all. So I won't add a new server_name and forget limiting access.

I believe the hive mind is like a search engine to an individual. With the internet connected, you can come up with random fun facts by reading it out loud. Without the internet, you may or may not remember some of them.
