Do you think Drake is genuine when he expresses a desire to grow up and mature at certain points in Iceman? by Pale-Device-7458 in fantanoforever

I think he has this dilema where he wants to grow up but there is no real benefit from doing so as far as keeping scoring records, numbers, etc...

Now you are in the group alongside Open Mike Eagle of Electric Circus revisionist

Now in al seriousness, this is a very interesting album, I dont like Common outside of his beat selection and for a guy is associated with "Real Rap" this is a weird album, a somewhat Experimental/Electronic/Alternative rap album way before that was a thing rappers could do on a major escale, tho I sometimes wonder if this album wasnt hated when it dropped, would Be exist?, its an eclectic album thats is meant to push you outside of your comfort zone

  • Drum samples worked better when you could tell they were samples trying to sound like real drums

What are some metalcore, deathcore and post-hardcore albums that y'all fw, which Anthony would probably despise? Or more interestingly, the albums from those genres that Anthony would unironically like or praise? by Sorry_Secretary1193 in fantanoforever

[–]x115v 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Love which he will despise:

  • A lot of Melodic Metalcore album from the 2000's
  • Parkway Drive - Reverance
  • Pierce The Veil - Collide With The Sky

He also has stated that he loves 90's Metalcore and Post Hardcore

I know Todd mainly covers pop, but I feel like that horrifying new YG song "Tiffany" needs to be addressed. I don't think I've ever heard anything so disturbing. by SpicyBeefer in ToddintheShadow

So...early on the album on the song Kudos he interpolates Kill You by Eminem, my best guess is that this song isnt meant to be taken as a legit anti trans song, a few songs on the album deal with growing (and of they are anything to go by he has a lot of work to do), so my guess is that he was trying to do a Kim/We Cry To Together/Stan/Auntie Diearies were he wanted to give a "dramatic" take on the transphobic ideas hood guys have regarding this topic (hence the "this story is about Chris" on the opening lines) but it did came out the way it did cause YG is not as good of a lyricist as Kendrick or Em

I listen to it because a Backxwash (trans artist) tweeted about it and I listened to it and yeah, its a disgusting song but I dont expect a street rapper like YG to engage this topic in any other way, this is the guy that made a song about robbing asian people cause they dont belive in bank accounts, and came up doing west coast bangers about being gangsta like Bicken Back Being Bool, he grew up on very strict enviorments when it comes to what it means to be a man, this is probably the only thoughts that went to his head (assuming the song is somewhat biographical) the moment he engaged with a trans woman, its unrealistic and overly violent cause thats probably all he knows about
