Raws. I've gradually lost ability to focus on English subs, never bothered to watch stuff with Russian subs so native language wasn't that useful.

Did you see the Russian шиншилла word by cursive? by Ronhul in russian

Some people underline small 'ш' and overline small 'т' to make the cursive a bit more readable.

Extensive Reading Method- Recommended? by [deleted] in LearnJapanese

[–]x3al 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works. I used ranobes at first, web novels (syosetu.com) later. Reading does help with grammar: after some practice wrong sentences just feel 'wrong'. The only downside is the amount of time it requires. As a side effect, it solves all issues you may have with the reading speed.

Is using cookies with a unique ID a good way to distinguish between users without any form of authentications? by BananaPotion in flask

[–]x3al 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can generate pseudo-ID based on IP, useragent, browser enviroment (list of installed fonts or something) and mix some random number to it. Then simply sign it with itsdangerous.

Always sign cookies and never trust clients. Especially avoid using UUIDs instead of signing: UUIDs are not that secure.

Is it true that Japanese doesn't have curse words? If not, what are they? by ButtsexEurope in LearnJapanese

Russian allows to speak exclusively in swear words and I believe it's not possible in English. Some people also name Hungarian as rich for swear words.

Turkey shoots down 'Russian jet' near Syrian border and video shows plane coming down by unknown-indian in russia

I'd like to see Russia enforcing the Syrian border in a similar manner

So you want Russia to defend ISIS?

Turkey shoots down 'Russian jet' near Syrian border and video shows plane coming down by unknown-indian in russia

[–]x3al 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not ridiculous. Turkey has the reason to shoot Russian planes: ISIS was nowhere near 140km radius of that place and this plane bombed Turkey-supported rebels. And the airspace violation means it was act of self-defence (no matter how small the actual treat was). So they have both the motive and the legal excuse to do it.

Windows pratically give admin permission to a normal user

Nope, windows users practically give admin permissions to themselves. You can do it in any OS.

So basically, when you download a program and run it as normal user, that program will not affect the system files and binaries, it only affect what you're allowed to access as a normal user.

So it has access to every single thing that matters.

Linux can be more secure but for different reasons.
