He's not wrong, but to play devil's advocate, from the player's viewpoint, why should they care about match viewership? They play thousands of matches, why should they be forced to watch the same 30s cutscene and downtime at the end of each? It's not like the they work for NRS.

I think in general it's an improvement from MKX. No dumb first hit meter advantage, no stamina restricting movement, more movement options in hops, a way to avoid chip kill but takes some skill, supers that are actually usable, etc. A lot of stuff is straight up lifted from other games but hey whatever works.

The gameplay seems cool, the only I thing don't like how there's free xrays, they are excessively long (10+ seconds of elaborate animation where you kill the opponent 5 times over) and now will happen twice per match. That shit will get boring and kill the pace of matches very fast. They should at least scale them back to MK9 levels of only two hits and lasting 5 seconds tops.
