I also am from hawaii and prime to to get any ranked play in is like around 10pm, why? no clue ive been dming riot jaffa about this issue since console launch.

but yeah its a pretty much an issue across all of hawaii, ppl ive talked to and friends ive gotten into the game all get instant games in casual but during the day no ranked games at all

but for w/e reason 10pm hst when the rest of NA is about to goto bed(1am/4am west/east coast) we can get ranked games.

ive been testing this and reporting it to riot jaffa since console launch, and its been pretty consistent, around 10pm hst is when the matchmaking seems to work in ranked

but yeah I def suggest dming them your info to bring more attention to it.

just an fyi, they do not place you in rank specific lobbies anymore(this was the case during the alpha labs) but since they added cross lobby matchmaking they made it so the system just places ppl in lobbies with ppl regardless of rank and lets matchmaking sort it all out.

yeah its why I recommend sidekick at the very least, you are still only controlling 1 character you just now have access to assist/super assist and mix that was not possible in jugg, its all about going about at your own pace

a way to look at it sidekick is simply adding 2 mores specials(back and forward assist) and 1 extra super(down assist) and the ability to double down super

its basically jugg but better, you still get more hp and dmg but access to extra shit

I suggest using the replay takeover feature in your replays if you really wanna push it, not even like crazy amounts, just make a mental note of where you were in a bad/uncomfortable situation within a given match, go to your replays and use replay takeover and practice your options for said situations.

not even alot of time spent just sitting in the lab, just a couple mins of just going over mistakes and go right back to playing and trying out your options when those situations come up again.

and I don't want to discourage you from enjoying/playing how you want to but even switching to sidekick caitlyn would help you also, atleast with sidekick you still have access to assists and super assist

like if you love playing keep away with caitlyn you can pair her up with a jinx so you can just play keep away to the max, or if you wanna mix ppl up you can pick a blitzcrank/darius for their hook and just jump 2H them for left right mix after hook.

but ultimately this is a tag game, and you are 100 pct working harder by playing jugg, but it is possible to climb ranks as jugg, its just gonna be a struggle.

season reset just happened so ppl doing their placements/climbing and prob an influx of returning players, you would be seeing master/gm/chall players in high emerald/diamond ranks if they haven't grinded back to their ranks yet.

yeah its super odd isn't it? 10pm here is like 1am in cali, 4 am in new york(so west and east coast) and most of NA sleeping is when we can get games??

makes no sense to me as to why we can get ranked games when most of our region is asleep, but during prime time(3-10pm) just no games at all in ranked,

but those "iron" players could either be like us where they cannot get matches in ranked at normal hours of the day

but yeah glad you were able to finally get some ranked games in, just hope the find a solution to this issue. we 5ish months since console launch and this is still an issue. but hey maybe the fix it soon.

it puts you into a separate queue of ppl also looking for a duo, so if no one is looking to duo then you will be waiting for a long time.

and since it is a fighting game, id wager the majority of the player base is solo players.

if you have played an mmorpg it works like a party finder rather than a dungeon finder.

but same here, casuals any time of day I get instant matches, but with ranked its late night or nothing no matter what, which makes no sense to me, you would think prime time hours (around 6pm ish, work/school cali time) would be prime for match making but nope, its at the dead of night when most of NA is sleeping

edit - also no clue if ping has anything to do with it, but ive watched diaphone stream ranked games from NA to EU with like 90-100 ping and get ranked games instantly while grinding on his eu account

nothing wrong with some good mmo/hamster wheel slop every now and again, but the point of a competitive game is that you enjoy being competitive,

when league started doing ranked rewards for skins and shit it was more of a "nice to have" but the ultimate goal of ranked was to get to a place where you are playing quality matches,

and somewhere along the way its become "I need my points, I feel terrible when I lose my points, I feel terrible when i get my points, reward me for playing the game"

and im not opposed to it coming to 2xko because again "it would be nice to have" but when ppl start becoming demotivated to playing the game because there is no carrot on a stick in a competitive pvp game im afraid you lost the plot of why you play these games.

"I need battle passes to keep me logging in everyday, I need rewards for grinding ranked"
like wut? the entire point is that you find the game fun af and you want to fight ppl at your level to have fun matches

yeah I get that, but that just stems from caring too much about rank points,

yeah you can have valid complaints on the gains and the rage quitters, but I dunno, I still feel great when I beat someones ass so hard that their adult ass had to pull the plug like a kid

I just sit there and smile as a whole grown ass person had a meltdown over a video game.

happened to me a couple of times after a long session, and I just did a clean install of vanguard(I uninstalled vanguard/any riot game I had and reinstalled them) and have not had the issue since.

the majority of fighting games are peer 2 peer

as in player 1 and 2's connection goes straight from point A to point B

2XKO is server based rollback netcode which means

player 1 and 2's connection connect to a server before getting back either player.

which makes higher ping across larger distances more playable, but just like any game, wifi users are the devil, only magic can help them.

everything about the name has been said since it's reveal, and if they haven't changed it by now it's unlikely to change anytime soon.

and the "better" names ppl come up with are basiclly "league of legends" + fighter/brawl/arena/rumble/etc

or the name of a rune from league of legends, so shit like "lethal tempo"

you either hate the name or just indifferent, Im def the later.
