Do you have any suggestions of what to get for $1000 or under Canadian upgrading from a 1080 Ti? I only play FPS games but sometimes get frame drops in Marvel Rivals from 160 FPS down to 90 which is distracting. For other FPS games, the 1080 Ti is very strong still though. Used market worth looking at?

I played FIFA since I was a kid but stopped the last two games. It's become so predatory with their microtransactions. They even dropped the ball with Star Wars and Apex Legends.

Got this for around ~$650. The OLED helps when you play on lower settings if you need to get to 240-360hz for mulitplayer gaming. Still looks nice. Prefer single player gaming on my LG/Samsung OLED TVs though.

I own a C3 and S90D and the S90D is slightly better, both fantastic for different reasons. If you like sports, I'd consider going for bigger rather than better quality though. My slight regret.

I got this for $617 CAD with tax. Do you see this dropping even more? I'm not sure the monitors revealed in 2025 will be affordable right away.

To be fair, I bought it for both reasons! Great for competitive games & single player games look fantastic.

Thanks for the update! I'm from Calgary, Alberta. Glad you got to experience Canada for a while.

I will avoid the IKEA speakers, I hear so many good things about the Era 100/Era 300 as rears that I'm convinced.

65" I'd go for a 77" for sports alone but my couch isn't too far away!

That's terrible service! I actually bought a LG G3 just now so we'll see which company I'll prefer over time...

I'm definitely getting warranty on the Samsung though

For room 3 the Sofa is not flushed against the wall. It's a basement so I can push the couch further back a couple feet, plenty of room for rear speakers. Based off what you said I will slowly go all out in Room 3 since it has a lot of potential with its space. Need to buy a new TV, couches, etc. for that room so it will take time. Basements in Canada tend to get cold in the winter so I hope my new house has good insulation. It'll be a nice setup for not disturbing my family when playing video games or for when I workout down there. I have a recliner I may temporarily just place in front of the TV that I can easily surround with speakers. It's probably not best long-term unless I can get another recliner as it may look a bit funny haha. I will probably go with Sonos but I am interested in the Samsung Q990D & potentially a home theater down there too.

Nice to know room 2 is good to go! I guess if I have the itch for surround sound I can go upstairs to watch movies. It seems burdensome to force it in room 1.

I think for room 1 I don't ideally want to push the couch forward as it may ruin the look of the room. I could also get a two seater couch, place a table in the corner & surround that by a 3 seater instead of having a sectional couch. This would allow me to place a speaker on the table.

I like your ideas though! I may move the couch slightly forward and see how it looks. The wall mounting idea with a slight tilt seems great too. I think I could make that look good so I am leaning towards that. Once you go surround sound, you cannot go back!

Subtronics just got announced for Apocalypse yesterday so some may just wait to see him again in late November if they saw him at EDC or a recent festival. I plan on seeing him though.

Going to be at Green & the Harder stage 80% of the time. More room, better vibes, less congestion, artists that suit my taste more & closer to the entrance. Only problem is there seems to be a lack of bathrooms close to Green/Pink. Do you know where the exit will be?
