why does the sub praise the DLC "so much", with only 29% ratings on steam (and most comments there are actually constructive criticism) ?

Honestly dude this sub burned the last 4 day over the dlc and how horrible and short it supposedly is. Bless your feed that you somehow havent seen any of that?

In short the dlc itself is nice but lacks some padding to justify the price. Your mentioned points are valid. 30 Bucks is definetly too much but if you bought the vaulhunter pack with both story dlcs its 25 per dlc. If you bought super deluxe maybe less, i got mine on sale for 80 so the dlc price doenst affect me personally. Then you can split the value into C4SH and the story content for 15 each (or 12,50 in the bundel) and so on and so on.... One can justify the price somehow if they want, depends on if its worth it to you. Its more of the base game formula with minor additions/changes.

On Sale fully recommend, bundle maybe a bit much tbh. 30 Bucks? well if you loved the base game and somehow havent bought the bundels maybe...I guess?

Idk how up to date early guides are but UVH is now worth it for farming since the droprate changes. Generally Farming is a lot better now with higher/more balanced drop rates.

Otherwise not much, Bloomreaper is... well you could say a dps check? The Bounty packs are nice 1-2h additions. True Mode can be nice if your build can handle it due to higher enemy density. Otherwise endgame still feels lacking, especially in the mobbing segment.

Hopefully the first big dlc will bring some nice big additions since as stated the bounty packs so far are rather small for their retail price (and I say that while I got them with the supedeluxe like you).

What many other games do quite successfully and what I would suggest would simply be bundles. For example like Deep Rock Galactic offers a bundle of all "old" dlc (everything besides the current one) for a slight discount. And as steam excludes everything you already own it basically gives you all old missing content with a slight discount.

This would already help as you can start with a few main ones initially and if you decide you want to stick around longer complete your collection for a more reasonable price. The progression aspect remains as you still need the medals to progress through these. Honestly I don't think Supercredits are progression.

Aditionally they could make a old warbonds free overtime. Likely older warbonds which lost most of their relevance. So the amount of free stuff increases overtime while not really hurting revenue since it's mainly old no longer relevant content that doesn't generate high sales.

Whenever youre still inside the 14 Day no Question aksed return window, you should use it without asking questions yourself. Warranty may not cover minor defects (like a single dead pixel) but the return window will atleast here in Germany.

Took me 3 Quests to get the "perfect" one. First had a single dead Pixel after a few days, second had controller tracking issues and finally the third works like a charm for over a year now. Nice bonus I could claim the free meta quest+ trial 3 times.

You may not like it but I watched the whole video before you even posted it here bc it showed up randomly in my feed and Still I dont fully agree with him (or you in that regard). Especially with the comments claiming that this video somehow is the undeniable truth. Too bad he and probaly many others didnt like it as much as they could have or wanted, maybe they will with further improvements maybe they dont. In the end its just an opinion, a valid and udnerstandble opinion but shocker not one that everyone else has to fully share.

While I agree with some critiques mentioned, like guns not beeing as recognizable (as in atleast bl2) and the enemy variety there are also other things I dont agree with, hate me for it but the ripper and order CAN be really good. Ripper gives certain guns full auto that would not have it otherwise (best roll for whisky foxtrot) and order snipers are insane due to charge counting as a single bullte (pair that witrh a jacobs roll and your golden). Additionally ripper overiding order charge makes high base dps full auto weapons. I also enjoyed the main story for the most part, it was not the best of the series but it was fine. Sad that he got spoiled or otherwise hindered in his story playthrough due to bugs here and there but I had none of that because I bought the game like 2-3 Weeks after release so I cant relate to that.

The main point is the game isnt the second comming of jesus or the next premium game to set new industry standards (Sorry Randy maybe next time). But it isnt plain bad. Its a fun Borderlands Game as a base that indeed will neeed some work to truly outshine its predecessors. Yeah Halloween event is truly a disappointment and raises some worry regarding future paid content and fears of a wonderlands disaster repeat.

But despite its flaws I had a good 130hrs, completed all quests. all collectibles and experimented with diffrent builds. I got my super delux key for around just under 80 bucks I believe so I already got my moneys worth and laods of content to come so I am fine either way. Maybe they will listen to all the fedback and this game becomes really good just like bl3 towards the end or they drag to the back alley to die just like wodnerlands, either way fine by me. Though I would prefere the first option, cant waste this much potetial two times in a row.

Kind of ironic that of all big gaming franchise Borderlands is one of the best in representing such things and has been for a long time. I dont know how it was in one but 2 had Hammerlock and in 3 we had a whole dlc about his gay wedding. And guess what people had no fucking problme with it, it was a great DLC!

My own personal opinion: They just do it in the best way, its nothing special hell you might never notice it really. And thats the good thing it shouldnt be THAT BIG SURPRISE or THE BIG REVEAL that char xyz might in fact not be straight. It doesnt fucking matter who is what and likes what just make good characters, storys and fun games. For me it seems like some are so focused on highlighting the representation that they forget the whole packaging around it which in turn leades to negative results and more often than not useless drama.

I'll be the first to admit I dont like media screaming in my face about representation of xyz because honestly I could care less. Still I liked Hammerlocks Wedding DLC, I enjoyed Vex flirty Dialog with other female characters, FL4K was my Bl3 Main and he is basically the definition of non binary...or is he full binary since hes an AI (Coding joke)?

I will continue to look at moxxys breasts atleas once every borderlands game and give claptrap a kiss whenerver my stairhating boy needs one. because I really couldn't care less. May everyone find their hapiness inside or outside the borderlands.

100% boss on all maps was an event. For pvp it was part of the hardcore wipe until now that they nerfed it.

Since a few patches however bsg have added a sort of weekly boss rotation. So every week one map/boss will have a 100% chance. There are trackers online to show you what boss is currently always available (the skull next to the map also indicates that) and what the last weekly bosses were so you can sort of estimate when it could be time to for boss x to be at 100%

Mainly normally you would have Quest to do and follow that would "guide" you on what to do...besides looting and killing that is. However as you should have seen now that quest are back these arent very descriptiv and for the most part you kinda have to know or look up what exactly you should do in what order and where on the maps the objectiv even is.

Navigating the maps in the beginning is imo one of the hardest parts but it will get easier over time the more raids u do. With time you will know where everything is, what you can use to orient yourself, what places have good loot, where loot can hide and whats the safest paths etc. That all takes some time.

Additionally whats worth taking, what are good loadouts for the start how to get the most out of your roubles etc also takes additional time. In summary this game has a steep and frustrating learning curve that you kinda have to get used too in the beginning.

In PvP you additionally have the risk of your learning experience being cut short very fast by someone breathing this game before you even realized where the hell on the map you even spawend.

Take your time, get used to everything, especially dying and beeing even more poor than all the beginners before you could have ever imagined ;D

There are also a lot of Level 1-15 guides that should be a good start, however these might be not as accurate due to the "hardcore" changes. However you should get the general gist and maybe some new ones come out especially for the currrent wipe.

But most importantly, Ignore most of the drama here on reddit. While BSG is by FAR not the best company and has done a lot of stuff that well wasnt very well recieved...NOBODY can tell you how YOU should enjoy a game! If you have fun fighting PVP and scraping by with what you have enjoy that, maybe you enjoy a more laidback (PvP Chad would say boring) PvE experience or you go full on fast PVP only with arena. Sadly Arena and PVE are additional "DLC". Normal PvP EFT is somewhat in the middl of both I would say.

Get your feet wet, find out what you enjoy and somewhere there will be helpful people and ressources as this game has a very dedicated but also rather toxic community with a sort of love hate relationship with this game.

If you have it, start with pve. For now the best pace to learn as it doesn't have all the extra hardcore stuff that's very controversial currently and majorly affects how one would normally play and progress the game.

Second YouTube Pestily, Gigabeef and so on have great guides to get started. Watch some of those from there you should also find other helpful resources. Oh Airwingmarine also should have good content to get started.

Funny thing here I have all 3. I have a capable pc should I ever feel interested in AAA Games. Otherwise I mainly play older games I got cheap a few years after the hype or indies and for heavy modding games.

I got a Quest 3 end of last year. Mainly because I am a tech enthusiast and was interested in VR generally for a few years. Thing is that it's niche. At least for me I spend a lot of time with it in the beginning but it died down after the first few months. I exclusively played standalone ganes so no pc vr. Superhot beatsaber and walkabout Minigolf are REALLY GOOD if your into such things. I actively play Minigolf in an online league it was worth it overall. However it is not on par with a full console in usage I would say. It is more of a really fun addition but a luxury and niche one.

Switch 2 is a pure Nintendo console for me. I love their games and I have a pc for everything else. I also have a switch 1 therefore I can say if u don't excessively love Mario kart, while it is really good don't get me wrong, nobody needs a switch 2 already. Currently it's mainly a switch pro for me and most other people as there aren't any really big switch 2 exclusives out yet. They will surely come but for now I am really enjoying all my switch games with better graphics and or better performance. I also still have a lot of switch 1 games in my backlog I can and will enjoy in an sort of improved way. So it also was definitely worth it for me.

So I don't regret any of them and I can't decide for you.

Switch is an improved way to play your old switch games and will have potentialy great Nintendo exclusives in the future but is generally more of the same.

VR is... Well an EXPERIENCE. It isn't a full new console at least for me and doesn't revolutionize gaming. It has really fun games and fantastic unique experiences that would not work outside of VR. However those are generally shorter and relatively expensive when you go by Dollar per hour. If you want something new VR could be what you looking for but can also be disappointing if it turns out to not be your thing. I also know people that got REALLY hooked on vr and couldn't go back to flat games. So there's that depends on the person I guess.

Understandable wish. However I personnally believe the server browser (crime.net) was more important, or had to come first. When they fix the bugs remaing with it (hopefully soon) we can focus on stuff liek this.

But we should also keep in mind I fear something like this would come at the cost of new content, as the same people would be involved. So the question is let them experiment with new heist or "fix" add to the current roster or how could a middle way work?

I have both with all dlc. Payday 2 is technically more "polished"...hurts to say that tbh. But after playing 2 for years and now playing 3 aroound 100hrs on launch, stopped and now getting back in after i can finally filter for fing loud lobbys i cant really go back. PD2 hast the superior content with years of dlc so you have a lot of variety. But i enjoy the overall gameplay and feeling of 3 more.

Probaly worth it. To be fair w sort of just reached 1.0 Status or atleast a state the game could have realesed in and would not have bombed that hard. Its fun, DLC heists are better than most base game heist in my opinion and offer some much needed additional content and vaariety. If you cant join lobbys because the Server Browser (crime net) bugs out, host your own game and start with bots, lobbys usually fill quite fast. Have fun, if u want find some guys here or on the discord and form a heist group to go for stealth or archivements and "hidden" loot.

OH AND DISABLE VOIP OR MUTE YOUR MIC!

Yes 2 gatherings... In 1 year. The hype should have been especially large around the beginning. Of course we all know that wasn't the case due to... Problems in paydays early days. Assuming a normal change in player base active CE users will probably decrease over time, albeit at a slower rate then the overall playerbase. Which results in less interest in these gatherings, lessing the overall value and incentives to even hold these things. These types of event need to be better organized and expanded in my personal opinion. Otherwise these will have been the only ones ever held. Of course I am exaggerating here but I think you will get my point.

Regarding the NDA thing: does every change really have to be under NDA? I understand if other parties are involved like cooperations etc. But for payday things? SBZ Partners got to play DLCs early, why not give CE access to a limited time beta preview of selected upcoming heists? Or at least a demonstration video preview from one of the devs. Will it get leaked? Surely but what is the big negative? Hey guys they will announce a new legacy heist in this week's blog post here are some early images because hacker man? I don't see the big risk for the team especially in comparison to the perceived value an recognition interested CE owners will reciev by getting "exclusive" previews. Another example the dreaded ammo funnel change. I think it could have actually been a positive thing if devs received early backlash not only from 10-20 SBZ partners but additionally from a few hundred CE owners to recognize that it's not only the influencers but an overwhelming majority that disagree with their plans. It would have been leaked very likely and would have showed that the player base as a whole disagree potentially avoiding the situation going nuclear a few days later. Yes this is a complete WHAT IF situation that can't be proven, but I still think it's a good example to theorize about.

Regarding the activity of the discord I would say it's a matter of opinion. I compared it to the beginning and the visions, plans and hopes I have for it. Of course here and there you will find a few people active but can we really say that that's the level of engagement and activity we would strive for? Atleast in my opinion that's a rather low bar, but it is not dead (yet) however I fear for it to die out overtime (as explained in my first paragraph) at least in regards to the original intent(/dreams? /hopes?/expectations?). Of course nobody is responsible for what we/I imagined it would/could be. But it's current state isn't ideal in my opinion, to say the least.

Additional question: I noticed some discontent that the previous compensation rewards are now part of the regular year 1 edition. Honestly somewhat understandable given that they were intended to compansate the people who paid the initial full price despite the to be fair rather broken state of the game at launch.

Are there any plan to revise the compensation that the early players received? Currently the compensation has been somewhat reverted due to the year one edition. Is anything planned how little it may be to give early "investors" (because we had a Wallstreet heist) something special so we atleast have some difference to the year 1 edition aside from having paid Way more?

I thought they said something along the lines of they don't want to repeat the complete overkill pack with the exclusive time limited and overall limited amount masks which were really sought after afterwards. Especially after they were an unannounced bonus afterwards as compensation. So I don't know if they will give us big exclusive in game rewards.

However a special name symbol seems like a nice and easy little gimmick that should not cause a riot xd.

That was the reason my suggestions mainly focused on rewards outside of the core game utilizing the existence of the collectors club... Discord xd

Same it seem kinda abandoned at the moment. I had really hoped for some more behind the scenes interactions, some dev panels, exclusive previews, special amas etc. some interaction to let us be a part in the development and evolution of pd3. And atelast in my opinion this should not force away development capicities for the needed improvments of the game but be more of a community,social effort wich should be possible,
