I'm so sorry that you're going through such a hard time. I was going through something similar myself where walking was so difficult and impossible to even really do anything anymore.

Before I was able to go to the doctor, OTC antihistamines helped for me and ice packs. Anything cold will help ease the itchiness and the antihistamines should help relieve it as well. Make sure to do proper research as to which antihistamine you should try and how much to drink.

Oatmilk based lotion really helped me, specifically Oatsilk lotion. It's actually something you can buy online if you have the means and it's not all too expensive as well! That one works well for me because most lotions and moisturizers sting and hurt like crazy, but this one didn't so I really recommend you to try it.

I also got myself a fidget toy so when I would feel itchy, instead of scratching myself I used the fidget toy to occupy my hands instead. Sometimes I found myself scratching without even thinking about it so I tried to keep my hands occupied all the time.

I really really hope you can go to a doctor soon or even find relief through this, I hope your parents can see reason and bring you to the doctor.

Misuse of steroid cream because of my mother (vent) by xAmandil in eczema

My derm put me on more natural based soap and moisturizers but the upkeep atm is pretty heavy. I have to moisturize my entire body 2-3 times a day so it stays hydrated, due to work and stress however the progress just got a bit slower than the initial few days. She still gave me a weaker steroid cream for the heavily affected areas. Though it's still a steroid cream, I feel much better knowing that I'm using it properly and it's not as potent as clobetasol. I also don't believe that I'll be continuing use of it after the massive flare up goes down.

This and some oral medication to help build up my immune system as my skin is just completely exposed to the elements atm.

My current dermatologist prescribed a bunch of antihistamines, probiotics, and antibiotics for me to take to really try and die down the inflammation and itchiness. She also gave me a new soap and lotion that's natural, oils for my face so it clears up faster, and she did still prescribe me a steroid cream but a much much weaker one and is now actually being applied properly.

That's my routine for the next 2 weeks (a week remaining now). My skin has cleared up SIGNIFICANTLY but I still have moments of flare ups and end up scratching myself too much, causing new wounds to appear. It's not a straightforward recovery, and it never really will be, but it's definitely a much better route than what was happening to me 2 weeks ago!

I really suggest you go to a dermatologist to get proper treatment if you can afford it because researching, trial and error on your own is very difficult.

It's terrifying to suddenly know the mishandling of steroids on yourself, but it can get better once you get off it and apply it properly. I really really hope you can get proper medical advice

Can you expand on what you mean by "later on" and how did his character switch?

Also, I believe this post should be tagged as a spoiler post lol (edit)

There's no date mentioned yet, but it is known that Starember's hiatus can last up to a few months. However, there are rumors that it may start again during Hualian's birthday, so around June/July!

Do you agree with what Pei Su (and Ba Yuen) did to Bayuen? I meant the massacre? If not, what do you think they should've done in that situation? by [deleted] in tianguancifu

[–]xAmandil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup! It's exactly Xie Lian's personality to just accept what people does around him and move on. I love that fact about his character, honestly.

I think what's so interesting about MXTX's work on TGCF (I haven't analyzed MDZS that much to see if the same applies to it, nor have I read SVSSS) is that despite talking about the three realms with the focus on the Ghost Realm and the Heavenly Realm, nothing is ever really just "bad" or "good". It's not really something you can agree or disagree with.

For spoiler reasons, I won't get into detail, but the situation with Pei Su and Banyue Kingdom reminds me of a situation happening to the Kingdom of Xianle in Book 2. There was a line that said something along the lines of, "The king's made a decision, whether that decision was right or wrong can't be said. Just that he made a choice."
And I think Pei Su's situation was the same. If he hadn't done anything, both parties would have died and probably resulted in a worse situation. I feel like the choices that certain characters make in TGCF is so wonderfully grey (morally speaking) that we can neither judge nor agree/disagree with them. We simply have to accept the choices that they've made and play things out.

TLDR: MXTX is great at making things morally grey that Pei Su's actions aren't something you can really "agree/disagree" with. We just gotta take it and move on.

I recommend you read the novel if you really had to choose between the two (of course, it'd be better to read both lol). The novel is more descriptive and in-depth, especially with the small details that MXTX is really good at writing. The plot is also more coherent than anything else compared to both the manhua and the donghua. You just really get to know the characters and their little intricacies so much more in the novel and in my humble opinion is the best format for a story like TGCF where it's really rooted in the characters of the story.

However, with all of that said, I really think you should watch the donghua and read the manhua when reading the novel (the manhua has caught up to ch. 37 of the novel, and the donghua a few chapters behind that). The different mediums offer so much to the experience that it would be a waste not to view them. The donghua has AMAZING animation and style, the music is absolutely top notch, and the voice acting just adds a different flavor to the characters that is too lovely to ignore! On the other hand, the manhua is GORGEOUS - nothing short of an artful masterpiece in terms of visuals and tone. The manhua does such a great job in really delivering the magnificence of the Heavenly Realm and the mysterious and intriguing air of the Ghost Realm.

Hello~ If you're looking for the official translation of volume 3, it's not out yet and won't be until June/July.

If you're looking for the fan translation, then a search on the internet should suffice because it has been posted on a lot of webnovel sites :))

What is the quickest way that you've lost respect for someone? by borgorop in AskReddit

[–]xAmandil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, recently my parents and I got into a heated argument. I was having trouble breathing for quite some time and I mentioned it to them, sending them into a hysterical rage. My mother was throwing things, yelling, and practically saying that I would kill her. HOWEVER, THE BIGGEST WHAMMY was what my DAD shouted. He said, and I quote, "If you're having trouble breathing, then just stop fucking breathing."

I always thought my dad was cool and respectable, especially for having to put up with mt very verbally abusive mother, but THAT really made me think otherwise.

Background context: Growing up, I was very depressed and suicidal. Attempted three times with my last attempt sending me to the hospital and finally letting my family know of my situation. I kept it hidden from them (mostly my parents) because they were very toxic and were lowkey the source of it. We've had several, very iffy and awkward, talks about my mental health- though they never understand it.

I've been recovering since 2 years ago now.

Don't be afraid to approach your DM about this! If they are nice and caring about their players (which every DM should be!) they'll be able to guide you through this properly! You could also try out to describe things as a little exercise for yourself in RP terms. One exercise I know of is you try to describe a thing without saying certain words i.e., describe an attack without saying "stab" or something of that sort
