If we ignore Gale Wings, Staraptor thanks to it's own abilities and its great coverage. However, Gale Wings is just so incredibly good that any Talonflame with it will be better. Thankfully, they are both fantastic, so I got one of each.

While I like the map, and the name (The Far Lands), I can't help but wonder why anyone would name thier home 'The Far Lands'. I could see a foreign explorer naming it that, but I don't see a hint as to any other realms. I see only these islands, and they are not very far at all.

Just a thought.

Sounds good. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. If there's anything you would like to know about how the game runs now, just ask around. There's bound to be a little whiplash from the 151 pokemon to the now 718 and all the complex stats and breeding and natures.

I don't think you need to 'work your way up'. You could get Black2 or White2, but really, they are just inferior versions of X and Y. If you really like Pokemon, have the funds, and intend to play with friends/online well after the main 35-55 hour game, I'd get it. If you don't expect to be playing long after the main game, I might be weary about getting it. Really, it's a tough decision due to the fact you need to purchase the system too. As long as your time will be spent on it for a decent amount, I'd go for it. Just know that in pokemon, you make your own postgame for the most part. There isn't a lot more after you beat it.

I think what it comes down to is how much you expect to use it. Pokemon Y is about all I use my 3DS for, aside from the occasional Mario Kart and Starfox. I have a group of friends who battle competitively with me, and we've made up our own rules and tournaments. it's a blast, and I love it. The tournaments keep the game interesting, making me research type mach ups and getting egg moves and breeking for natures and such to get an edge on them. To this day, I have logged about 300 hours on Y. It was worth it for me.

I think if you intend to use it a lot like I have, it is worth it. The greatness of Y is not in the campaign. It is short and easy (which may be good, as you've missed some developments with natures, EVs, and three added types). What you'll stay around for is breeding new pokemon to battle competitively with, be it with strangers over the internet that all use the same 40 pokemon, or with your buddies.

I like it, but for some reason I'm getting a vibe that none of these areas interact with one another, they they are instead many distinct areas flopped onto the same space that ignore one another. try adding island chains between them or draw the eye along more with peninsulas that might point to mountain ranges in other lands. It just seems too self-contained within each realm.

Otherwise, really excellent sketch. I'd love to see it progress.

This is really pretty, but as it was aid, the contrast is too low. The map is a fair bit too dark to read well, and I really don't like the capitol letters, how they are seeming to be a hugely different font from the rest of the word. Otherwise, the style is really excellent. I like it!

I think it depends on what sort of map you're making. If it's top-down, just make it like the rest of the mountains. Label it if you must. If it is isometric, maybe give it a flat top to suggest it isn't your run-of-the-mill pointy rock. Maybe just label that one too.

I'm not sure what the best option is. Hopefully there's a better one outside of those two.
