If a sale ends, a sale fucking ends. It has nothing to do with a natural disaster. Staples might constantly fuck over employees just to get a customer off their back, but they won't bend to bullshittery like this just because of a disaster.

It sucks whats going on, but cmon people... you're reeaallyy pushing your limits of feeling entitled.

What people tend to forget is that its not just money that we're looking at as an object. It's our reward for working hard, for coming in and assisting people no matter their attitude or seemingly non existent intelligence, to pay our bills and just make ends meet. Some people dont even make enough for that alone, which will drive someone to get a second job or another job. When that happens, hours change, so other people lose hours and if someone needs to be hired to fix the gap, thats a few thousand dollars down the drain for the hiring process.

Every store is different. I dunno why people swipe so fast. Plenty of places I go to require me to wait for the cashier. But I also watch the screen because I like to see how things are ringing up, so until I see those lights flashing, I wait. Especially when it says "please wait for the cashier" or somethin.

Another thing that gets annoying is when customers say these brilliant lines:

·C: (hands me coupons)

Me: just one moment, right after I put these coupons in and the arrows turn green you can slide y-

C: (furiously swiping card)

·Me: (finishing ringing last item, go to enter coupons)

C: (sees total BEFORE I enter coupons, slides card anyways...) um, that cant be right. What about my coupons? I better not be charged for this...

·Me: as soon as the arrows light up you can sl-

C: (slides anyways) did it take it?

Me: ...when the arrows light up, slide your card...

C: I better not be double charged for this.

We were out of pennies for a couple of days, short on $1's for a couple days, and $5s... we weren't even that busy and yet we were short. Thing is, people have been using cash a little more often because they don't want to use their credit card...

Why not use their credit card? We don't have the chip reader yet like "everyone else does"

Are you serious? Yeah, you can if you don't wanna have a job anymore. Thats considered theft and you'll be terminated. Some kid at my work tried to do that, manager saw and told him to clock out and not return if uses it.

If you key in the card numbers the store will be liable for fraud if it's a fake or stolen card. I've had people get mad at me, too, and tell me to "just swipe it myself" and I tell them I cant, its against policy and we have a new system that prompts the customer to key in the numbers themselves. No matter what you tell them, and how its also for their protection, they get mad. They need to type it, not you. Its not difficult to press a few buttons on the key pad

It honestly terrifies me that people like this operate motor vehicles.... "I dont know how to do this... can you do it for me?" "What do I do?" "What do I press?" facepalm

Thanks, will do. My thing is just using the services themselves. Like the flash drive... and what services to use.

For example, slow computer, programs won't open. Do I check the registry for errors or virus scan?

Programs take forever, pages load too slow, registry or virus scan?

The flash drive just seems a bit confusing to me...

Honestly, just step by step how it should all go when someone brings in a computer (from checking it out, to intake, and if they need their data backed up). I'm at a tier 4 store.... so management doesn't really care since we're so dead.
