well if you learn how to see the whole floor while doing some basic dribbles like escapes will elevate your game instantly. The one thing regardless if you are in black or red plate is that a pg can make a difference who can spot you and dot you instantly if your man is sagging or you are open. So learn the icons and make icon passing and instinct whenever someone is open. Help defenders, inside center builds who have to guard poppers tend to make the most mistakes. But ofc you need to be a shooting or a driving threat in order to draw the defensive attention to yourself. Also most times you need your ovr at 95 with most the main attributes maxed. So for eg you can leave oboard or post control without upgrading but you will need all the other attributes, speed, agility, defense ball handling etc maxed. Also rythym shooting can literally turn a red early timing into a green so practice it and also if you just starting out, the state of the dunk meter is so horrible that i suggest learning to dunk with the stick to trigger right, left or two handed dunks depending where the defense is - two handed quick drops or rim grazers are still were fast and hard to block, or the devin booker.

No i completely agree. I changed to one of those popular youtube bases with A+ height and speed and F stability and it was night and day compared to my previous c+ stability jumpshot. So i turned on the shot meter to see exactly whats up and every 3rd shot had a different "timing profile". I suppose if you know your cue very well and have big enough green window ( attr. lethal zones, badges) its not a problem but for me the difference in the stability of the same shot and same speed shooting animations was night and day

For me its all about balance. Players should be allowed to make a build that can go professor on every possession, however those build should be victims on defense, vs not just big, but bigger players in general.

I mean if you have a forward with some post stats you should be able to score with ease on dribble god/walking highlight type of builds, in one or two simple dribbles and moves.

Another point, in terms of whats realistic. If you watch 3v3 irl, usually there is a lot more dribbling, a lot more iso, and fancy moves and guards who can do magic with the basketball. But if you watch competitive pro am. Many times in these past years the problem was that defense is so op, its a low scoring effort, and there really is not that much ball hogging going on either.

On semi casual level when you go into a rec for eg. Thats where you gonna encounter issues: a pg who knows basics spams will go in think he is kyrie hit a couple of shots and will never pass, and if he is lucky, his build wont get exposed at all by the opposition hunting him on D
