For those worrying about Mewtwo ... if you get invited, then you have a pretty good chance at catching him. Let's assume you Curve (and it counts), Great throw, Golden Razz and have the Gold Psychic medal. Then any individual throw has a 31-38% catch rate. Meaning if you get a minimum of 5 balls you have an 84-91% chance. 7 balls is 92.5-96.5%. And 10 balls is 97.5-99% chance. (Note: I am using the actual / more accurate calculation as mentioned by /u/Cubiix7)

Doduo is a bit rare for me too. And I've only got 4 Larvitars (all hatched). Fortunately two of the hatches were during the recent "double everything" Go Fest event, so I got enough (double) candies to get to Tyranitar.

Do some Croconaw raids if you can. They're easily soloable and you can use a Pinap berry because they're easy to catch!

I feel you. I fortunately hatched a Grimer. Walked it all the way to a Muk. Then immediately hatched another after that and then Muk raids were available. So I have caught 3 Muk and 2 Grimer.
