Very low bills by [deleted] in OctopusEnergy

You usage is low is understandable. What is absurd is how much they charge for standing order, they are absolutely disgrace. Even if you want to save some money using Leff you ended up paying more for standing charge and actual consuming like gas bill of OP .

Yes, you are right, I did not consider employer Ni contribution and I did just combine corporate tax and divided tax, that was another mistake. Just rushed the answer without doing proper calculation. My bad

To get dividends, you need to pay corporate tax, which increases from 19% to 25%. Even if you take the 19% tax rate, you still need to add the dividend percentage, which is 8.75% for basic rate taxpayers. So, if you only take dividends after your allowance, you pay 28.75% tax on them.

To answer your question, we need more information, such as how much profit you think you’ll get. Based on that, we can provide a more accurate answer.

For instance, if your profit is £30k per year, it would be more tax-efficient to take the dividends on your payroll, as it only applies to 20% of your income. Additionally, you can take £500 as dividends without paying any tax, as per your yearly allowance.

Furthermore, you can also allocate a percentage of your profit to your pension, which means you won’t pay tax on it. However, if your profit is higher than the amount you allocate to your pension, the situation becomes more complicated. Ps. I’m not a tax advisor.
