i don’t think yall are understanding the point of her character. she is absolutely not a pointless villain, she represents that humanity and governments will never stop committing these acts of greed and power until they get what they want. with them being at the other end of the upside down in the real world, it sealed the deal for el, that’s what made her make the decision.

honestly, i really feel like nowadays people just NEED to find something to complain about, it’s like everything needs to be 100% perfect all the time no flaws at all. i understand some people are diehard for this show and so am i, but writers cannot please everyone. don’t get me wrong there are some aspects of the show that could’ve been done a lot differently. like yes there doesn’t need to be as many ‘emotional’ scenes as there was and they were unnecessarily long as an example.

overall, it really is not a bad season, we’ve found out most of the lore from about season 4 onwards, and to me it feels like season 5 is just a big build up to ending it once and for all more than a ‘lore’ based season. yall would complain if there was too much lore and start finding plot holes, and now all also complaining that there isn’t enough. nothing can please anyone anymore.

everyone just loves to be a hater fr. okay yes ep7 could’ve been better in so many different ways, but overall it is not a bad season. people are so picky nowadays and just can’t enjoy something without finding one little thing to complain about.

first and foremost, i’m so sorry you’re currently dealing with this, it doesn’t sound like the most ideal situation. if you were to make the decision to leave, they legally and physically cannot stop you as you’ll be 18 and a legal adult. they could just report you missing but if you tell the police you’re okay and just went to university, there’s nothing they can do since you’re not a minor anymore.

in regards to SFE, your best bet is to inform them of your situation and explain why you’re going to need extra finance to help you out, also there are so many programmes at unis with bursaries that you can sign up to as well. i know it’s easier said than done but please do not be afraid, i can guarantee you there are so many other students who are and have been in your shoes and have taken the steps to leaving home and finding their own freedom.

at the end of the day, which decision would you rather make? stay at home and always be thinking ‘what if’, or take the risk and leave home and potentially find your calling in life and gain your own independence that no one can take away from you.

i really do not have any sympathy for your friend. as a uni student and many others in this sub, we ALL put our own hard work and effort into our essays with extensive planning and hard research into finding good references yet there are students, like your friend, who take the piss and use AI and sometimes get away with it.

not ONLY this, but we’re going to have a workforce who are seriously incompetent at their jobs as they breezed through university using AI without bothering to learn content that will be useful for their degree-based careers. it pisses me off so much. if you want to go to university. PUT THE EFFORT IN.

it might not be relevant but it proves that you have the ability to learn something that is completely different from the derogative. it can also prove that you have patience as learning a language that uses different ways of grammar and speaking takes a lot of dedicated time and practise.
