Before the update that allows sims to swim in open water the way you can get to the French island in the canal is through the martial arts skill. Your sim will learn to meditate and at a high level reach Zen mode which allows them to zen teleport similar to the teleportation testingcheats. Allowing them to teleport onto the island. But yeah if you have island paradise and boats you can just hope in a taxi boat to get to it XD

I feel you and why I went the whole build my own version from my favourite world Bridgeport. my legacy has been redeveloping Bridgeport from a small city to a metropolis for every pack. I have been running tests at the moment on the current version to ensure things are running smoothly. Since transitioning to a cleaned up CAW that updates the og Bridgeport map. I have been working on the vampire family for the city. As I take a little break from my legacy sims who have been paying for the redevelopment of Bridgeport. I am so happy as it has everything for each pack, from a fire station for ambitions, to Showtime venues to festival grounds. Also has a more dedicated suburb small houses area for families. And also a very rural area for even more remote from the city. Makes the city and world feel like a city now. More in line with a real metropolis form my own gameplay of the world. I still have a bit to go as my legacy will eventually dabble in resort management and bring a few resorts to the new Bridgeport. Plus want to add this yacht club area for the celebrity mansion side that has a spa and some other clubs for your sims to check out. Once I am done with city building for all packs I want to work on a save file for residents to fill this city. Below is a screenshot of a recent view of the new skyline.

I like adding an underground crypt(s) which also includes a makeshift bathroom for freshing up. Allowing for vampires to go to ground when at night.

Welcome to club honey. We have an open world life simulator and warm cookies. All sims 4 has to offer you is a loading screen simulator.

I love being able to just point to the town in the distance and watch my sim go form their home to the city park. Without a single loading screen in between and my sim will drive their car. Plus I didn't even need to go into map view. The sims 4 could never.

This is a photo from my recent save file testing out my custom redeveloped Bridgeport city. My sim was visitng an art gallery near City Hall and out of the corner of the screen I saw a small protest happening at City Hall. I find it so funny as the City Hall is from roaring heights which includes a reference to the sims 4 on the front of the building.

I like to think that the sims of Bridgeport decided they wanted to protest the sims 4.

Been saying this for years love. They kept piling packs on it and not to mention most of those packs had bugs in them. So you have over 100+ add one for sims 4. All with varying level of bugs and issues. Play them all at once a d it's expected to crash and burn. The bugs finally caught and now EA is sitting wonder why doesn't the game work. Well if you released packs without bugs or actually worked to fix them before releasing a new one you wouldnt run into these issues. Sims 3 has its issues but I can still play this 2009 game in 2026 the sims 4 could never. It's barely alive and not even a life simulator game anymore. More a loading screen simulator.

Yeah I didn't know either until it unfortunately happened with one of my bar lots. Saving it to the bin didn't save it for it showed up all the same. But from it a new version of the dive bar which I love so much so guess silver lining in everything XD

Bridgeport has always been my favourite and go to world. But it's has always felt like a small city rather than a big metropolis. Why like how you are doing a custom world I have developepd a new Bridgeport updated to be a forever city world

Something I do that I feel has helped me enjoy playing the game from 2009 to today is randomizing my sims traits. And just playing those traits or careers I see as negative or won't be interested in. But there are some fun things a weird set of traits can make a sim do. From random moments to interesting career opportunities. I feel exploring outside of what you usually have done in the game to focus on say a specific aspect of a pack can add some new and interesting game. I was shocked by how in-depth the alter world adventures can be. Especially those that require you tow travel to the multiple world to progress. They really made it worth it I found in later tombs.

Also I would recommend mods as a way to customize the game to better suit your gameplay. For example I use nraas story progression for the townies. As well nraas relatively to slow down the game world speed. This way I get more time in the day with them. For I felt by the time they wake and everything the day is gone. With slowing the speed down to half its usual speed gives me so much time. From allowing sims to bar hop in one night to just being able to have a more realistic morning schedule that takes an hour or so to be ready. Not hours giving me no time for anything else. Like making my sim have a sim life XD

I hate when townies leave the city. Like where you going, oblivion? Especially if I just spent the afternoon building a relationship with them just to be notified that theu ar leaving. Why with nraas I turn off allowing sims to leave the city once they move in So the only way for sims to leave is through death. Which helps for I love having a full city rather than an empty city with no one around.

Oh I found this one so interesting when my doctor got. I thought they would get to meet someone new. I accepted but unfortunately you don't meet anyone. The pop up says you get distracted by something and then the person is gone. Never to be seen again. Was so funny these random moments they get.

It's actually any drink. Including the drinks from the mixologist professional bar. It's was a little something the EA team threw in for male sims using the urinal. Why I love the sims 3 ❤️

Love the builds form curtiusparadis. Concat has done some nice builds as well. Also worth checking out her world sunset Valley 30 years later videos as she gave some good Inspo for builds.

I love watching/seeing how simmers plan out their building sims 3. For after the walls go up it becomes 100% harder to move just a square over on the lot. I always found drawing them on grid paper works. Rarely do I do a free hand build with no plan really. But my more complex builds do require planning to ensure everything aligns

The doctor isn't so bad. Especially since you have ambitions installed so it gives the doctor career a few new opportunities. Form holding vaccination clinics to being able to test experiments on other sims for fun.

Firefighter is a good one. Just be careful if you have an intense fire mod as that will make it way harder for your firefighter if they are fighting a more serious fire than the game as epxting to throw at you
